Techniques for remote presence subscription are described. In an embodiment, a technique may include presenting a view interface to a client, where the client user may select what kind of presence information, and for whom, they would like to receive. The techniques may further comprise receiving a selection of presence data through the view interface from the client; creating a view from the selection at a web service; translating the view into a request having a protocol useable by a presence server to retrieve information for the view; requesting and receiving the information for the view using the request; and providing the information for the view to the client. Contextual data corresponding to previous search requests of a service provider's electronic catalog can be used to resolve voice-input search requests and present search results. Contextual data includes the previous search request that is input to a machine learning algorithm along with a present search request. The machine learning algorithm generates a score indicative of whether the present search request is a refinement of the previous search or a new search request. Once the search request is classified as a refinement or a new search, the search is processed to provide search results including available items from the service provider matching the search request.

Technologies are generally described for providing an intermediary API for intercepting and processing subscribing requests to a communications server. An intermediary API may intercept a subscribing request from a local or PIC client to receive presence status data from a presentity such as a bot executed on the communications server. The intermediary API may be configured to provide the presence data to a PIC client without consuming the communications server registered subscription limit. The intermediary API may employ a server-supported protocol-specific processing language or module to intercept the subscribing requests, to determine if the request is targeted for one or more bots executed on the communications server, and to determine if the request is for presence data for one or more bots. The intermediary API may determine if the request is non-terminating, and if all criteria are met, may provide presence data to the requesting client.
