Swimming Machine

US Patent:
7526820, May 5, 2009
Filed:
Aug 18, 2005
Appl. No.:
11/207044
Inventors:
James Murdock - Aston PA, US
Thomas M. Zuraw - Aston PA, US
Linda S. Braley - Aston PA, US
International Classification:
E04H 4/00
US Classification:
4492, 4904, 4152112
Abstract:
The Invention is a swimming machine operated by a hydraulic pump and hydraulic motor. A first and a second tubular rail support the swimming machine in a swimming pool and are configured to resemble a swimming pool ladder and thus disguise the swimming machine. The configuration of the tubular rails substantially prevents use of the swimming machine as a ladder. A radio-operated remote control proportional relief valve selectably bleeds hydraulic fluid from the high pressure side to the low pressure side of the hydraulic pump, allowing remote control of the velocity of water in the pool.

Solar Drying Apparatus And Process For Drying Materials Therewith

US Patent:
4249317, Feb 10, 1981
Filed:
Nov 5, 1979
Appl. No.:
6/091049
Inventors:
James D. Murdock - Moylan PA
International Classification:
F26B 328
US Classification:
34 93
Abstract:
A solar drying apparatus for removing the moisture from granular materials, sludge, or the like which utilizes the sun's rays and convection air currents includes an angled surface for retaining a layer of the material to be dried and a transparent cover disposed above the surface for permitting convection air currents to flow therebetween. A raking device disposed between the surface and the transparent cover causes displacement of the drying material thereby causing it to move slowly down the angled or inclined surface. A feed mechanism is disposed at the upper edge of the angled surface to insure a continuous flow of raw material and a removing device is disposed proximate the lower edge of the angled surface to continuously remove the dried material from the drying apparatus.

Voltage Monitor Using A Capacitive Digital-To-Analog Converter

US Patent:
2022028, Sep 8, 2022
Filed:
May 25, 2022
Appl. No.:
17/824505
Inventors:
- DALLAS TX, US
DANIELLE GRIFFITH - RICHARDSON TX, US
PER TORSTEIN ROINE - OSLO, NO
JAMES MURDOCK - RICHARDSON TX, US
BERNHARD RUCK - FREISING, DE
International Classification:
G01R 19/257
H03M 1/66
G01R 31/3835
Abstract:
One example relates to a monitoring circuit that includes a capacitive digital-to-analog converter that receives a binary code, a reference voltage, a monitored voltage, and a ground reference, the capacitive digital-to-analog converter outputting an analog signal based on the binary code, the reference voltage, the monitored voltage, and the ground reference. The monitoring circuit further includes a comparator including a first input coupled to receive the analog signal and a second input coupled to the reference voltage, the comparator comparing the analog signal to the reference voltage and outputting a comparator signal based on the comparison. The monitoring circuit yet further includes a binary code generator that generates the binary code based on the comparator signal, the binary code approximating a magnitude of the monitored voltage.

Temperature Compensated Oscillator Driver

US Patent:
2020005, Feb 20, 2020
Filed:
Oct 23, 2019
Appl. No.:
16/661245
Inventors:
- Dallas TX, US
Danielle Griffith - Richardson TX, US
James Murdock - Richardson TX, US
Per Torstein Roine - Oslo, NO
International Classification:
H03B 5/04
H03L 5/00

H03B 5/00
H03B 5/08
H03B 5/36
H03L 1/02
H03L 1/00
Abstract:
A circuit includes an oscillator having a driver and a resonator. The driver receives a supply voltage at a supply input and provides a drive output to drive the resonator to generate an oscillator output signal. A power converter receives an input voltage and generates the supply voltage to the supply input of the driver. A temperature tracking device in the power converter controls the voltage level of the supply voltage to the supply input of the driver based on temperature such that the supply voltage varies inversely to the temperature of the circuit.

Set Point Adjuster For Oscillator Driver

US Patent:
2017027, Sep 21, 2017
Filed:
Mar 15, 2016
Appl. No.:
15/070810
Inventors:
- DALLAS TX, US
DANIELLE GRIFFITH - RICHARDSON TX, US
JAMES MURDOCK - RICHARDSON TX, US
PER TORSTEIN ROINE - OSLO, NO
International Classification:
H03L 5/00
H03B 5/08
H04W 84/18
H03B 5/32
Abstract:
A circuit includes an oscillator having a driver and a resonator. The driver receives a supply voltage at a supply input and provides a drive output to drive the resonator to generate an oscillator output signal. A power converter receives an input voltage and generates the supply voltage to the supply input of the driver. The power converter varies the supply voltage based on an adjust command supplied to a command input of the power converter. A detector monitors a voltage level of the oscillator output signal. A controller sets the adjust command to the power converter to control the supply voltage to the supply input of the driver such that the voltage level of the oscillator output signal is set at or above a predetermined threshold voltage.

Swimming System Current Generator

US Patent:
2017021, Aug 3, 2017
Filed:
Jan 29, 2016
Appl. No.:
15/010017
Inventors:
- Vista CA, US
James Murdock - Wayne PA, US
International Classification:
A63B 69/12
F04D 1/00
F04F 5/12
F04D 13/12
F04F 5/46
E04H 4/12
F04D 13/06
Abstract:
A current generator for a swimming system may include multiple entrainment pumps that discharge a flow of water into a pool. The entrainment pumps may each have a nozzle, a venturi and an entrainment inlet. In use, the flow of water from the nozzle into the venturi causes water at the entrainment inlet to flow into the venturi along with water from the nozzle. Each entrainment pump is arranged such that the fluid that flows out of the venturi passage is directed within a main passage, and the flow from multiple venturis may be combined and may be directed at least partially against the force of gravity before that fluid is directed out of the main passage outlet and into the pool. In at least some implementations, the fluid flows for at least one foot between the venturi and the main passage outlet.
