Truck For A Skateboard

US Patent:
6428023, Aug 6, 2002
Filed:
Jul 23, 2001
Appl. No.:
09/911115
Inventors:
Juan L Reyes - Capistrano Beach CA, 92624
Bradford E. Horn - Dana Point CA, 92629
International Classification:
B62M 100
US Classification:
280 87042, 280 1127, 280 1128
Abstract:
A truck assembly including a housing adapted to be mounted to a skateboard or the like. An axle bracket is positioned partially in the housing and is mounted for rotation transverse to the longitudinal axis. The axle bracket includes a projecting upper end portion and a bottom end portion adapted to receive a transversely extending axle and wheel assembly. A resilient member, located at least partially in the housing, is provided and is adapted to resist transverse rotation of the axle bracket, and provide a restoring force. In addition, a wedge member is provided, having an aperture configured for receiving the projecting upper end portion of the axle bracket to establish a direct coupling therebetween. For example, the wedge member aperture and the projecting upper end portion of the axle bracket may have complementary, engaging polygonal configurations. The truck assembly may further include a rotational lock subassembly structured to prevent wheel bind during a rider effected turn of the skateboard.

Skateboard Truck With Single-Pin, Pivotal, Reversible Attachment Between Axel And Base Plate, And Means Of Improving A User's Shredding Capabilities Through Use Of The Skateboard Truck With Single-Pin, Pivotal Attachment Between Axel And Base Plate

US Patent:
7413200, Aug 19, 2008
Filed:
Jan 9, 2006
Appl. No.:
11/327729
Inventors:
Bradford E. Horn - Dana Point CA, US
International Classification:
A63C 17/02
US Classification:
280 87042, 280 1127, 280 1128
Abstract:
A skateboard truck with a single kingpin assembly mechanism with a compressible single bushing with a graduated coefficient of compressibility and built-in cam stops. The truck allows for superior rotation of the wheels due to the single kingpin assembly, which presents an improvement over the prior king-pin and bolt, as there is less stress on the moving parts, the danger of wheel-bite is reduced, and a tighter steering angle can be maintained. The axle hanger is reversible to allow a user to change the height of the skateboard deck from the surface. Because it is made from fewer parts, the truck is simpler to construct, take apart and repair, and can be made less expensively than traditional trucks.

Texture For Skateboard Deck And Method Of Making

US Patent:
2008000, Jan 10, 2008
Filed:
Jul 5, 2006
Appl. No.:
11/480735
Inventors:
Bradford Ernest Horn - Dana Point CA, US
International Classification:
A63C 17/00
B05D 1/12
US Classification:
280 1119, 427180
Abstract:
A method of creating texture on a skateboard deck or surface of another object upon which it is desirable to have a texture, and toward a method of making and applying the texture to the surface of an object where a texture is desirable. The texture is created by coating the surface of the object with an adhesive through, preferably, coating the surface with a water-based adhesive, from an enclosed, pressurized container through a commercial paint sprayer. After coating the surface, a plurality of particles, preferably crushed, ground glass particles, are dispersed across the adhesive-coated surface and left to dry. After the adhesive/particle coat has dried, one or more surface coats of the same or a different adhesive may be optionally applied to more securely attach the particles to the surface and vary the texture. The method is fast, inexpensive, and provides a superior surface to that in the industry.
