Jul 8, 2022
Appl. No.:
17/860720
Inventors:
- Baytown TX, US
Gang Huang - Shanghai, CN
Jo Ann M. Canich - Houston TX, US
Irene C. Cai - Webster TX, US
Brian J. Rohde - Houston TX, US
International Classification:
C08L 23/14
C08L 23/08
Abstract:
A composition, including: a copolymer including units derived from ethylene, one or more α-olefins, one or more substituted styrene compounds, and a pendant alkoxy silane group. A method was disclosed to incorporate pendant alkoxy silyl groups onto the benzylic positions. The silane-functionalized polymers show ability to cure with water. Additionally, blends of silane-functionalized polymers exhibit improved filler acceptance.

Abstract:
Low molecular weight, high Tg resins, with applications including tire additives and adhesives. An oligomer is obtained by ring opening metathesis polymerization (ROMP) of a sterically encumbered cyclic monomer with an olefinic chain transfer agent. The sterically encumbered cyclic monomer and the olefinic chain transfer agent are present in the polymerization at a molar ratio of from 2:1 to about 40:1. Also, methods for making the oligomer by ROMP.

Filed:
Jul 14, 2020
Appl. No.:
16/928817
Inventors:
- Baytown TX, US
Brian J. Rohde - Houston TX, US
International Classification:
C08L 9/00
C08L 23/12
Abstract:
A thermoplastic vulcanizate composition, comprising a first phase bi-continuously intertwined with from about 10 wt % to 80 wt % of a second phase throughout the composition, and from about 0.1 wt % to about 10 wt % of a curative system, the first phase comprising polypropylene and the second phase comprising an at least partially cured elastomeric rubber composition, comprising from about 10 wt % to about 40 wt % ethylene, from about 5 wt % to about 10 wt % of a conjugated diene having from 4 to 12 carbon atoms, and from about 50 wt % to about 85 wt % of a C-Calpha olefin, based on the total weight of the elastomeric rubber composition present. A process for making is also disclosed.
