Waterfall Diverter

US Patent:
6342016, Jan 29, 2002
Filed:
Sep 5, 2000
Appl. No.:
09/655080
Inventors:
Christopher W Parker - Lahaina HI, 96761
International Classification:
A63G 3100
US Classification:
472128, 472117
Abstract:
A waterfall diversion apparatus is provided consisting of a modified cylinder in which a supply of water which normally cascades over a portion of roller coaster track as a waterfall is temporarily diverted as the passenger carrying cars of the roller coaster pass underneath before the diverter mechanism rotates back to a non-diverter position and the waterfall resumes. The rotating diverter member is a cylinder-like device having a plow like inner divider which when rotated into the path of the water fall diverts the water to the ends of the cylinder where it continues in an outward path to the left and right of the passenger carrying cars of the roller coaster. The modified cylinder is normally obscured from view by the waterfall passing over the exterior surface of the diverter member. As the passenger carrying cars approach the waterfall it trips a mechanism which causes a pneumatically or hydraulically controlled piston to rotate the cylinder until the scoop and plow-like diverter blade moves to an operative position just as the passenger carrying cars are underneath. The water being divergently ejected from the ends of the cylinder, appears to be splashing off of the passenger cars.

Vertical Semiconductor Wafer Carrier

US Patent:
2009007, Mar 19, 2009
Filed:
Sep 18, 2007
Appl. No.:
11/857398
Inventors:
Panchapakesan Ramanarayanan - Sunnyvale CA, US
Karson Knutson - Beaverton OR, US
Peter G. Tolchinsky - Beaverton OR, US
Christopher Parker - Hillsboro OR, US
International Classification:
H01L 21/00
US Classification:
211 4118
Abstract:
A vertical semiconductor wafer carrier comprises a circular base, a first wafer support rod mounted at a first position proximate a perimeter of the circular base, a second wafer support rod mounted at a second position proximate the perimeter of the circular base, wherein an angle θformed between the first position and the second position relative to a center of the circular base is around 20, a third wafer support rod mounted at a third position proximate the perimeter of the circular base, and a fourth wafer support rod mounted at a fourth position proximate the perimeter of the circular base, wherein an angle θformed between the third position and the fourth position relative to the center of the circular base is around 20, and wherein an angle θformed between the first and fourth positions relative to the center of the circular base is around 180.

Methods And Apparatuses For Deferred Object Customization

US Patent:
2013017, Jul 4, 2013
Filed:
Jan 4, 2012
Appl. No.:
13/343590
Inventors:
Christopher T. Parker - Mountain View CA, US
Andrew M. Matuschak - San Francisco CA, US
Marian E. Goldeen - Three Rivers CA, US
Assignee:
APPLE INC. - Cupertino CA
International Classification:
G06F 9/44
G06F 9/00
US Classification:
713 1, 719328
Abstract:
A method and apparatus to record one or more customization messages in a storage are described. Each customization message may include one or more predicates specifying applicability of the customization message for a plurality of objects. An operation on the objects may be performed to generate a configuration of a device in response to receiving an event. The configuration may include the objects. Each customization message may be selectively applied to the objects in the configuration to customize the configuration. An object may be updated via the customization message if the predicates match the object in the configuration. The device may be configured via the customized configuration.

Capability Attributes Based Application Packaging

US Patent:
2016035, Dec 8, 2016
Filed:
Jun 5, 2015
Appl. No.:
14/732610
Inventors:
- Cupertino CA, US
Patrick O. Heynen - Redwood City CA, US
David Makower - Milpitas CA, US
Andrew D. Boyko - Belmont CA, US
Anders Bertelrud - Burlingame CA, US
Christopher T. Parker - Mountain View CA, US
Paul William Chinn - San Jose CA, US
Robert Marini - San Francisco CA, US
Eric Olaf Carlson - Mountain View CA, US
International Classification:
G06F 9/445
G06F 9/54
Abstract:
A method and an apparatus for an application thinning mechanism are described. The thinning mechanism can select a subset of components from a universal application to assemble an application variant to be distributed and installed to a specific type of devices. The universal application may include every component, such as asset, resource or executable, built/developed for targeted device attributes to install one common application to multiple devices. For example, the thinning mechanism can use a trait vector associated with a type of devices to iterate through the components and identify assets to be included or packaged into in each target device specific application or application variant.
