I am a native of New York and when I moved here with my Charlotean husband, KC, I was the outsider to the area. But since then so many people from the New York and Northeast have moved here that it is hard to find a native any more. KC & I make up the majority of the Charlotte Home Team along with out assistant Stephanie. We are full time professional and focused on helping our clients. Since we are homeowners and investors in real estate ourselves, we can speak to the joys of home ownership and the benefits and challenges of being a landlord. We still own the first house we ever bought and rent it to a couple who have been there for over 15 years. It is the best investment we ever made! We live in a 71 year old cottage in a renaissance neighborhood just a few miles from Uptown Charlotte. We renovated this house and the gardens in 2006 at a time when every other house was being renovated, built onto or torn down and rebuilt. It is a beautiful wooded neighborhood within walking distance of shopping, coffee houses and restaurants. Very charming! In 2011 I rescued two golden-lab puppies who I have been training. They are very smart and the most affectionate dogs I have ever had. They love to go to the dog park behind the Mint Musuem where they can run through the creek, roll in the mud and play with the other dogs. I have ambitions to make them into therapy dogs. We'll see how that goes. I graduated with a degree in pychology from UNC-Charlotte and went back to graduate school years later to study geography, how cities grow and develop. Pyschology and Geography come together perfectly in real estate! KC majored in Business and runs the financial end of our team.

Between my husband KC & I we have over 50 years combined experience in Real Estate. I am a minority owner in the Keller Williams - Southpark market center and was an early member of this office. I came here to be part of building something unique that did not exist in the Charlotte real estate market...a special culture of highly motivated professionals who create synergy through our mutual efforts. It’s important to be a mentor. I was lucky enough to be mentored when I first entered the real estate field, and it’s an experience I will never forget: sitting down day after day with my office manager as he went over every aspect of the field: from buying, selling and finance, to the daily business of running an agency. Those mentoring sessions constitute the backbone of my real estate experience and gave me valuable lessons that I carry with me to this day. My strengths in real estate? There are very few if any Realtors in this market or any other for that matter who have the education, knowledge and experience I bring to my clients. Each year I complete 15 required hours of continuing education in relocation, market trends, contract changes, appraising and broker in charge training. In addition, I join the very top agents in our national franchise at our corporate headquarters in Austin Texas to brainstorm and network and learn better ways of helping my clients. I do not have to do that. It is expensive and time consuming but I feel it is important to stay on top of the market so I can best serve my clients. I am also highly analytical and approach my clients real estate as the one of the largest investments they have. It is important that be guided by experts in the field, and I feel I am an expert problem-solver. Sometimes a home can be tricky to market, or a buyer may have specific issues that go beyond the scope of normal experience. I welcome those challenges and pride myself on finding creative solutions no one else has thought of. We are currently experiencing the 5th buyer's market I have been through in my career. These are the days of incredible opportunity when years from now people will talk about what you could have done back in the "20 preteens". This is the best buyer's market we most likely will ever experience in our lifetimes. Real estate is my passion and I am very grateful to have been able to survive and even thrive when so many people are getting out of the business. Of course we do have a life outside real estate. I love to travel, although KC is more of a homebody. I have a fascination for the American West. Arizona is a Mecca to me. I love to go there and get energized by the beauty of the mountains and the desert. It’s breathtaking. We live in a 70 years cottage close to Uptown Charlotte. It is dripping with charming and just beautiful. We spent about 6 months renovating it. I am one of those people who always has to have a project going. I think sometimes KC thinks that someday this house will be finished, but one of the reasons we bought it is so I will have something to play with. It will never be done! (But don't tell him that...) The garden is also a major focus with over .3 acre with woods behind and owls, hawks, and racoons... and we are only 3 miles to Uptown! The Charlotte area is a forest by nature, and left to its own, would soon return to one. Things grow great here, and gardening has become a major passion for me. We believe in giving back to the community. KC & I are both involved in Habitat for Humanity
