Abstract:
A water/air mixing and dispensing device connected to a source of water has a housing with an elongated chamber end to end therethrough defining a shaped and sized mixing chamber and an operatively associated expansion chamber in communication with the mixing chamber, the housing having an inlet orifice connected at one end with the source of water and at the opposite end remote from the inlet orifice a transverse partition with spaced and sized openings against which the entering water impinges for drawing ambient air through the partition and for discharging the water/air mixture from the housing. The device may include a transverse rod in the elongated chamber of the housing for operative association with the transverse partition to modify the characteristics of the water/air mixture delivered and a plastic sleeve about the housing for various objects and commercial purposes.

Theft-prevention apparatus for a shopping cart of the type having a carriage body, a plurality of wheels and a plurality of wheel support yokes secured to the carriage body for rotatably supporting the plurality of wheels, including a pin extending from one of the wheels; a ball movable between a first inoperative position and a second operative position at which the ball is engageable with the pin; a plate secured to the respective wheel support yoke and having a cut-out section defining an aperture; a ball support cage having an inclined surface for supporting the ball at the first inoperative position out of alignment with the aperture such that said ball rests against the plate; and a solenoid secured to the plate for moving the ball support cage to a position adjacent the aperture in response to movement of the shopping cart in the proximity of a predetermined magnetic field to cause the ball to move from the first inoperative position through the aperture to the second operative position, such that the ball is wedged between the plate and the pin upon continued rotation of the respective wheel to prevent further rotation thereof.

A detachable key security assembly for preventing the unauthorized use of a key, more particularly to render the car key of a car parked in a parking lot temporarily non-usable so it can be left in the parked car and the theft of such car thereby prevented, has an elongated housing with a bore extending in from one end substantially the full length thereof to provide an open end and a closed end on said elongated housing, at least one sized slot in the walls of the elongated housing is provided through which the key to be secured is inserted, a gripping assembly in the housing is disposed for operative engagement with any key inserted in said sized slot, an actuator for operating said gripping assembly to engage and release said key includes, a unique shaped stud thereon, and a wrench disposed to extend into said housing has a matching end to fit the unique shaped stud of the actuator so as to operate said gripping assembly.

Abstract:
A shutter assembly for a sized slot or aperture generally in the front wall or partition of a depository safe or other security box or enclosure has a closure member having at least one portion wider than the sized slot or aperture disposed for sliding movement in channels formed on opposite sides of said sized slot or aperture to move from a position normally maintaining the sized slot or aperture closed to a position where the sized slot is open and vice versa. The closure member has a cam follower and is movable from open to closed position and maintained in closed position by a cam assembly which includes, a cam lever, means extending through said wall or partition for operative association with an actuator such as a key or handle for moving the cam lever into and out of engagement with the cam follower on the closure member, the closure member being further operatively associated with a spring or the like resilient means which is slightly compressed on opening movement of the closure member so that the spring acts to minimize the initial torque requirements of the cam assembly for moving the closure member from the open to the closed position. Preferably the cam assembly should include lock means which extends through the wall or partition of the depository safe or security box and can be operated by a key from the exterior thereof.

Abstract:
A key deburring and polishing assembly for keys which have been cut on a key machine or for other metal elements which have uneven or hanging pieces remaining thereon has a frame having a base member and a front end plate and a back end plate connected on opposite ends of the base member and a cover which encloses the frame, driving mechanism mounted in the frame and fixedly connected to a cylindrical drum for rotating the same which drum defines a deburring and polishing chamber open at one end and can be aligned for operative association with the inner face of the front end wall so that abrading material which can be charged into the deburring and polishing chamber of the cylindrical drum by a suitable charging opening will not escape therefrom but with sufficient clearance to permit small particles to escape. The front end plate has an opening to permit a key or other element to be inserted and so positioned that when the cylindrical drum is rotated the inserted end of the key or other device will lie in the path of the rotating abrading material and thus enable the abrading material to deburr and polish the inserted end of the key or other element. Additionally, the combination of a key deburring and polishing assembly as above described with a key making machine for driving the deburring and polishing assembly a jackshaft assembly on the key making machine.

Abstract:
A self-interlocking dead bolt assembly for the door on a safe depository or like security container has a dead bolt guide mounted on the inner face of the door and a bore extends end to end through the dead bolt guide to permit an elongated dead bolt of high strength steel to be slidably mounted in said bore and movable to extend beyond said dead bolt guide for engagement with a strike or keeper to lock the door when it is in the closed position, and the bore has a locking groove inwardly of this end of the bore. The dead bolt has an inner bore or chamber which defines an annular wall thereon having a spaced plurality of sized transverse passages therethrough at a predetermined medial position. A corresponding plurality of sized ball members mounted in the transverse passages are actuated by a suitable actuating assembly in said inner bore to move radially outward on movement of the dead bolt to the locked position when the transverse passages are brought into alignment with the locking groove to self interlock the dead bolt in this locked position. The actuating assembly must be moved in a direction to cause the ball members to be released from the locking groove before the dead bolt can slide from the locked to the unlocked position.

Abstract:
A combination lock and switch device includes, a housing, a bolt slidably mounted for movement in one side of said housing, a locking dog in the housing connected to the portion of the bolt disposed therein for sliding the same between the locked and unlocked positions, a dial on the exterior of said housing fixedly connected to a shaft disposed for rotatable movement by said dial in a clockwise and counter clockwise direction, and tumblers on said shaft each having a peripheral notch therein so that on rotation of said shaft the peripheral notches will align and coact with said locking dog to move the locking dog and bolt connected thereto to and from the locked and unlocked positions. The first of said tumblers having, a second peripheral notch a predetermined distance from the first peripheral notch to provide an alternate combination of aligned peripheral notches for coaction with the locking dog, and electrical switch means including a commutator bushing on said first tumbler, and contact means on said commutator bushing extending into the second peripheral notch for operative contact by the locking dog when the alternate combination of peripheral notches are aligned with each other.
