Fan motors, and the like, are mounted to a unit having mounting holes of different spacing from the mounting holes of the fan motor by the use of one or more brackets each constructed around a substantially planar member provided with at least a pair of slots, each of which slots are arranged for attachment to one of the motor and a motor support member of the associated unit. The slots may be of equal or dissimilar lengths and may extend longitudinally either codirectionally and/or perpendicularly with respect to one another, and some of the slots may be arcuate in plan in order to facilitate the mounting of motors having a generally cylindrical housing.

An ice machine pump rebuild kit which enables a repair person to replace the electric motor for the pump and rebuild the pump by providing a kit which enables the drive motor and pump impeller to be replaced from a minimum inventory of replacement components. The kit includes a plurality of pump impellers constructed of plastic material having sufficient rigidity but yet enough flexibility to enable the impeller to slip over and frictionally engage the motor shaft with the impeller shank including a V-shaped slot oriented radially therein to enable the impeller shank to expand to receive and frictionally grip the motor shaft in a secure manner.

The bearing plate assembly is removably attached to an end housing of an electric motor in which the end housings of the motor are permanently affixed to the laminated body of the motor by means of anaerobic adhesive. The bearing plate assembly is attached to the end housing by the use of two short thread cutting screws so that it can be quickly and easily removed and replaced. When the bearing plate assembly is removed, the rotor of the motor may be extracted from the housing and reversed so as to reverse the direction of rotation of the motor. The bearing plate assembly is then replaced to complete the reassembly of the motor. By this construction, a motor can be made to run either in a clockwise or counterclockwise direction as desired.

A kit for relocating mounting studs of replacement fan motors, and the like, includes a bracket provided with a slot or a pair of apertures, and the like. One of the apertures or the slot receives a mounting stud whose shank extends in a first direction, and the other of the apertures or the slot receives a bolt whose shank extends in a second direction opposite to the first direction. By arranging one or more brackets with the bolt of each retained in a respective mounting hole of a motor to be mounted, which motor has mounting holes disposed according to a first standard, the mounting studs will be offset a predetermined distance from the mounting holes of the motor permitting alignment of the studs with openings provided in a support member which are disposed according to a second standard.

An adjustable length clamp-type band is provided and includes a plurality of L-shaped mounting brackets including first and second generally right angulated flanges. One flange of each mounting bracket underlies the inner peripheral portion of the band and is slidably mounted on the latter for adjustable positioning therealong. The other flange of each bracket extends generally radially outwardly from the band in a plane paralleling the plane in which the band is disposed and each other flange further includes a centrally disposed elongated opening formed therethrough extending longitudinally of the other flange. The flanges slidably mounted on the band include centrally disposed parallel slits formed therethrough and extending longitudinally thereof defining elongated central strip portions of the flanges therebetween having opposite end portions integral with the portions of the flanges disposed between the pairs of corresponding ends of the slits. Each strip portion includes a longitudinal central portion thereof laterally displaced outwardly of the plane of the corresponding flange portion and coacting with the latter to define a flattened sleeve opening through which the adjacent portions of the band are slidingly received. In this manner, each of the mounting brackets is slidingly secured to the band for adjustable positioning thereabout and the band may therefore be secured about a motor or other appliance component with the apertured radially outwardly projecting flanges of the brackets defining adjustably positionable mounting flanges for the motor or other appliance component.

A shaft adapter for a fan motor has an elongated configuration with a fan motor shaft receiving socket portion provided at one end and a fan blade mounting shaft provided at the other end. By making a receptacle formed in the socket portion of a different diameter than the shaft, different diameter motor shafts and fan blade shaft receiving bores can be connected to one another. The adapter is preferably constructed from a rigid yet relatively soft material to facilitate cutting off of the shaft at a desired length for a particular installation.

An adjustable mounting bracket for small horsepower motors, such as those used to drive fans in refrigerators, or the like, in the form of an H-shaped bracket having a plurality of longitudinally extending slots therein with the endmost slots having an open end to facilitate entry and exit of a fastening bolt, machine screw, or the like. The slotted bracket also slidably receives a nut, such as a sheet metal nut, or the like, which may be in the form of a clip that is longitudinally adjustably supported on the bracket and serves as a reinforcement when used in conjunction with the open end slot. The H-shaped bracket can be easily deformed or bent into a desired configuration to accommodate a fan blade, or the like, having a very deep pitch to avoid interference between the bracket and such a fan blade. The bracket may be associated with the existing motor and mounting screws in various arrangements with the slots in the bracket capable of being manufactured in different sizes to closely receive different size machine screws.
