Dispensing Device For Unit Dose Laundry Additive Pouch

US Patent:
7181934, Feb 27, 2007
Filed:
May 21, 2003
Appl. No.:
10/442333
Inventors:
Feng-Lung Gordon Hsu - Tenafly NJ, US
Daniel Joseph Fox - Tenafly NJ, US
Edward John Giblin - Hopatcong NJ, US
Ronald Frederick Vogel - New York NY, US
Gary Hsu - Tenafly NJ, US
Mohammad Hosseini-Nejad - East Hanover NJ, US
Assignee:
Unilever Home & Personal Care USA, division of Conopco, Inc. - Greenwich CT
International Classification:
D06F 39/02
US Classification:
68 13A, 68 17 A, 68 17 R
Abstract:
The present invention is directed to a device for dispensing a unit dose water-soluble pouch containing a laundry additive during the spin cycle of a washing machine process having a spinning wash drum. The device is attached to the vertical center post of a washing machine and holds a water-soluble pouch above the high water level. During the spin cycle, the spinning center post will create sufficient centrifugal force so that the water-soluble pouch is released from the device. The water-soluble pouch will then fall into the laundry where the water-soluble pouch will dissolve when rinse water fills the machine thereby releasing the laundry additive to treat the washed articles.

Automatic Dispensing Device For Laundry Care Composition

US Patent:
7398787, Jul 15, 2008
Filed:
Oct 18, 2004
Appl. No.:
10/967870
Inventors:
Feng-Lung Gordon Hsu - Tenafly NJ, US
Sudhakar Puvvada - Upton, GB
Ronald Frederick Vogel - New York NY, US
Diane Wolf - Bridgewater NJ, US
Gary Hsu - Tenafly NJ, US
Assignee:
Unilever Home & Personal Care USA division of Conopco, Inc. - Greenwich CT
International Classification:
B08B 3/02
US Classification:
134 56R, 134 941, 134113
Abstract:
A non-intrusive device for automatically dosing at least one liquid laundry care composition to an automatic laundry washing machine. The device employs a Venturi tube mechanism or a pump to dose the laundry detergent care composition. The dosing is controlled by a machine-generic algorithm capable of determining the actual cycle at any duration of wash for various cycle designs from various washing machines, without the input of precise cycle design; and dose the correct products correctly and is capable of distinguishing between major water addition and a water pulse.

Indexed Limb Bolt Assembly For A Recurve Bow

US Patent:
5411008, May 2, 1995
Filed:
Dec 29, 1993
Appl. No.:
8/175113
Inventors:
Gary Hsu - Canoga Park CA
Assignee:
Micro Inventions Technology Inc. - West Hills CA
International Classification:
F41B 500
US Classification:
124 231
Abstract:
The present invention is a limb bolt assembly for a recurve bow. The recurve bow has an upper limb, a lower limb, and a center riser with an upper end and a lower end each having a U-shaped slot for receiving a proximal end of a respective one of the upper and lower limbs. The limb bolt assembly includes an elongated threaded bolt mounted across the U-shaped slot, an index plate for indexing a rotational position of the bolt, a sleeve located inside the U-shaped slot and threadedly engageable with the elongated bolt and further engaging with the proximal end of the respective one of the upper and lower limbs, an end attached to the end of the bolt, and a plug mounted at a bottom opening of the U-shaped slot. The sleeve has an enlarged flange with straight rim portions for engagement with the inside sidewalls of the U-shaped slot from rotating inside the U-shaped slot, so that the sleeve can be driven along the bolt by rotating the bolt to adjust the poundage and tiller of the recurve bow. The limb bolt assembly further includes positive locking members for locking the bolt to prevent it from rotating after adjustment.

Adjustable Plunger For An Archery Bow Riser

US Patent:
5375584, Dec 27, 1994
Filed:
May 17, 1993
Appl. No.:
8/061458
Inventors:
Gary Hsu - Canoga Park CA
Assignee:
Micro Inventions Technology Inc. - West Hills CA
International Classification:
F41B 500
US Classification:
124 445
Abstract:
The present invention is a novel and unique adjustable plunger for an archery bow riser. The present invention utilizes the archery bow riser threaded aperture common to nearly all modern conventional archery bows. It provides a considerably improved method for tuning a plunger for balancing the side pressure from an arrow, so that the tuning process can take a matter of minutes instead of hours. The present invention includes an index micro adjustment which is a linear tension indicator scale for tightening or loosening the tension on the biasing spring. The present invention is fully adjustable in a longitudinal direction.

Indexed Scale Fastener With Damping Means For Use In Conjunction With An Archery Bow

US Patent:
5388563, Feb 14, 1995
Filed:
Oct 4, 1993
Appl. No.:
8/131528
Inventors:
Gary Hsu - Canoga Park CA
Assignee:
Micro Inventions Technology Inc. - West Hills CA
International Classification:
F41B 514
F41B 520
US Classification:
124 237
Abstract:
The present invention apparatus is a novel and unique combination of a damping member adapted to an indexed scale fastener for use with an archery bow. The indexed scale fastener and the damping member can be used together or separately. The damping member can be used at locations on the archery bow which are remote from the indexed scale fastener. The concept is to have the indexed scale fastener adapted to the conventional threaded openings where the prior art hex screws are located. A user can screw the indexed scale fastener to the archery bow and measure the poundage applied to the archery bow by simply reading the scale provided on the indexed scale fastener. The damping member can be threadedly mounted to the indexed scale fastener or to the archery bow, where the damping member absorbs the vibrations and shock in both the longitudinal and lateral directions caused by releasing of the arrow from the archery bow. The damping member also serves to dampen the sound of the archery bow and make the shooting of the arrow smoother.
