Reusable Finish Trim For Prefabricated Clean Room Wall System

US Patent:
5644878, Jul 8, 1997
Filed:
Jan 11, 1995
Appl. No.:
8/371375
Inventors:
Gary Wehrmann - San Antonio TX
Assignee:
Sony Corporation
Sony Electronics Inc.
International Classification:
E04B 206
US Classification:
522871
Abstract:
In order to simplify the quick and easy re-construction of a clean room which is constructed of prefabricated panels that are adapted to be connected to stud members, and to avoid the use of screws and bonds, a trim system which features a plurality of different trims is provided. By selecting a suitable trim from the plurality, and fitting it onto an edge of a panel by way of a channel or receiving portion provided thereon, it is possible to use existing studs and double finger T-clips to combine a variety of different panels together while taking advantage of a propriety type connection flanges which may be formed on some of the panels which are available.

Clean Room Tool Chamber

US Patent:
5295771, Mar 22, 1994
Filed:
Aug 28, 1992
Appl. No.:
7/936826
Inventors:
Gary Wehrmann - San Antonio TX
Henry J. Thomas - San Antonio TX
James Perrin - San Antonio TX
Ernest H. Sierra - San Antonio TX
Robert C. Wegmann - San Antonio TX
Assignee:
Sony Electronics Inc. - Park Ridge NJ
International Classification:
B23B 4700
US Classification:
408 67
Abstract:
A device for preventing contamination of a clean room during a drilling or cutting operation. A box-like chamber is provided for containing a power driven tool such as a drill. One wall of the chamber includes an opening for access to the workpiece (e. g. a wall to be cut or drilled). Another wall includes an access port with a rubber glove for operating the power tool. A pigtail electrical outlet within the chamber provides electrical power to the tool. A similar chamber may be used on an opposite side of the wall being drilled in the event it must be kept clean also. Both chambers include a port for attachment to a vacuum source such as a conventional vacuum cleaner and a port for entry of air to divert debris away from the workpiece and into the vacuum cleaner. In another embodiment, a small enclosure is clamped to the body of a drill or similar tool. The enclosure includes a vacuum port for removal of the debris.

Clean Room Wall System

US Patent:
5447002, Sep 5, 1995
Filed:
Aug 12, 1993
Appl. No.:
8/105785
Inventors:
Gary Wehrmann - San Antonio TX
Assignee:
Sony Electronics Inc.
International Classification:
E04B 278
US Classification:
52239
Abstract:
A device for preventing contamination of a clean room during the performance of unclean work. Wall members are provided to be connected in series, to surround and isolate the unclean work. Each wall member includes an interlocking receiving channel that can be slipped over the frame member of an adjacent wall member. This allows the wall members to be connected in series. Each wall member also has wedging means that allows the wall member to be tightly wedged between the ceiling and floor of the clean room, to prevent contaminants produced by unclean work from traveling from the work area to the rest of the clean room. If the unclean work includes making an opening in the wall of the clean room, a similar arrangement can be constructed on the opposite side of the wall, if that area also needs to be kept clean.

Beam Support Bracket For A Raised Access Floor

US Patent:
5787663, Aug 4, 1998
Filed:
Feb 6, 1997
Appl. No.:
8/796542
Inventors:
Gary Wehrmann - San Antonio TX
Assignee:
Sony Corporation
Sony Electronics, Inc. - Park Ridge NJ
International Classification:
E04B 543
US Classification:
52263
Abstract:
A raised access floor and method for modifying a raised access floor understructure construction uses a beam support bracket which allows additional support beams to be installed at any desired location within the mid-span of the adjacent stringer support beams of the respective quadrant sections within the raised access floor understructure. The bracket is capable of being mounted at any position along the length of a stringer support beam of a raised access floor quadrant section. This allows for great flexibility in available understructure modification schemes to allow appropriate modification for a wide variety of different sized obstructions installed within the raised access floor understructure.
