Siloxane compositions are useful as traction fluids in traction drive systems which are subject to varied operating temperature and pressure conditions. Specific siloxane compositions included contain units of formulae (I) (R SiO )(RSiO )(SiO ), (II) (R SiO )(RSiO ), (III) (R SiO )(SiO ), (IV) (R SiO )(R SiO )(RSiO ), (V) (R SiO )(R SiO ), and (VI) (R SiO ) in varying mole percents, where a is an integer ranging from 3 to 20 and each R is independently selected from alkyl groups comprising 1 to 18 carbon atoms and aryl groups comprising 6 to 18 carbon atoms.

A coating composition, particularly a clearcoat composition, which may be a two-component clearcoat composition, comprises a film-forming material, a crosslinking agent, and a nonlinear polysiloxane polymer having a functional group reactive with the crosslinking agent.
