Illumination Systems With Natural And Artificial Light Inputs

US Patent:
2012021, Aug 30, 2012
Filed:
Nov 7, 2011
Appl. No.:
13/291012
Inventors:
Gaurav Sethi - Dublin CA, US
James Chester Meador - Berkeley CA, US
Jonathan Charles Griffiths - Fremont CA, US
David William Burns - San Jose CA, US
Assignee:
QUALCOMM MEMS Technologies, Inc. - San Diego CA
International Classification:
H05B 37/02
US Classification:
315155
Abstract:
This disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatus for illumination systems with natural and artificial light inputs. In one aspect, an apparatus can include a natural light collection system, an artificial light collection system, an illumination panel, and a control system. The illumination panel can be optically coupled to the natural light collection system and the artificial light collection system to receive natural and artificial light. The control system can be coupled to the artificial light system and can be configured to control the artificial light system.

Methods Of Manufacturing Illumination Systems

US Patent:
2013021, Aug 22, 2013
Filed:
Mar 19, 2013
Appl. No.:
13/847338
Inventors:
Gaurav Sethi - San Diego CA, US
Jonathan Charles Griffiths - San Diego CA, US
Manish Kothari - San Diego CA, US
Assignee:
QUALCOMM MEMS Technologies, Inc. - San Diego CA
International Classification:
B23P 11/00
US Classification:
29428
Abstract:
Methods of manufacturing light panels having at least one re-entrant turning feature. In one embodiment, a method of manufacturing a light panel includes providing a base layer, providing a cover layer, and coupling the cover layer to the base layer to form at least one re-entrant turning feature between the base layer and the cover layer. In another embodiment, a method of manufacturing a light panel includes providing a base layer, forming at least one receiving space in the base layer, providing at least one prismatic block, and coupling at least a portion of the prismatic block into the receiving space such that re-entrant turning features are formed between the prismatic block and the base layer.

Content-Driven Screen Polarization With Application Sessions

US Patent:
2014008, Mar 20, 2014
Filed:
Sep 20, 2012
Appl. No.:
13/623746
Inventors:
Isaac David Guedalia - Bet Shemesh, IL
Ravinder P. Chandhok - San Diego CA, US
Jacob Guedalia - San Diego CA, US
Gaurav Sethi - San Diego CA, US
International Classification:
G06F 21/60
US Classification:
726 27
Abstract:
The disclosure relates to rendering content on a display. An embodiment creates a plurality of sessions between the display and a content delineating device, determines, by the content delineating device, a sensitivity level of content, and renders content having a first sensitivity level in a first session and content having a second sensitivity level in a second session.
