Splice Connector Assemblies And Methods For Using The Same

US Patent:
6780044, Aug 24, 2004
Filed:
May 5, 2003
Appl. No.:
10/429521
Inventors:
Charlie Sawyer - Orlando FL
Isaac White - Orlando FL
James Dickens - Ocoee FL
Blake Urban - Lenoir NC
Kevin Forsberg - Orlando FL
Assignee:
Bellsouth Intellectual Property - Wilmington DE
International Classification:
H01R 1120
US Classification:
439417, 439404, 200 6162
Abstract:
A splice connector assembly for mechanically and selectively electrically connecting first and second conductor members includes a connector body adapted to receive the first and second conductor members. The connector body includes a first body member and a second body member adapted to engage the first body member. First and second electrically conductive terminals in the connector body are adapted to electrically engage the first and second conductor members, respectively. An electrically conductive bridge member is mounted in the connector body such that the bridge member is movable between a closed position, wherein the bridge member electrically connects the first and second terminals and thereby the first and second conductor members, and an open position, wherein the bridge member does not electrically connect the first and second terminals so that the first and second conductor members are not electrically connected by the splice connector assembly. The splice connector assembly is arranged and configured to crimp the first conductor member to the first terminal when the first and second body members are engaged with the first conductor member positioned therebetween. According to some embodiments, the first terminal of the splice connector assembly described above includes an insulation displacement connector.

Ladder Dolly

US Patent:
2004010, Jun 10, 2004
Filed:
Jun 26, 2002
Appl. No.:
10/180594
Inventors:
Kevin Forsberg - Orlando FL,
Isaac White - Orlando FL,
International Classification:
B62B003/04
US Classification:
280/079300, 280/079110
Abstract:
A dolly is disclosed for transporting a ladder. The dolly has a main frame, a ladder brace, and a ladder stop. The main frame has a first end, second end, and a single longitudinal frame member extending between the first end and the second end. The ladder brace upwardly extends from the first end of the main frame and supports one end of the ladder. The ladder stop upwardly extends from the second end of the main frame and engages a rung of the ladder. The dolly extends in length and height to accommodate various ladder lengths, and the dolly collapses for easy carrying and stowing. The dolly allows a user to transport the ladder with less lifting and, thus, less injury.

Methods, Systems, And Products For Locking & Unlocking A Lock

US Patent:
2005019, Sep 1, 2005
Filed:
Apr 22, 2005
Appl. No.:
11/112574
Inventors:
Isaac White - Orlando FL,
James Dickens - Ocoee FL,
International Classification:
H04M011/00
US Classification:
379102060
Abstract:
Methods, systems, and products are disclosed for locking and unlocking a lock. A lock service manager module stores in memory, and a processor communicates with the memory. The lock service manager module includes executable code for receiving a communication from a calling telephone number. A database is queried for at least one of i) a called telephone number and ii) a calling telephone number. The database stores telephone numbers of subscribers to a lock service. The lock service allows remote locking and unlocking of the lock. If the query is successful, the communication is processed.

Alerting Of Network-Associated Information Associated With A Telephone Call

US Patent:
2005012, Jun 16, 2005
Filed:
Dec 11, 2003
Appl. No.:
10/733192
Inventors:
James Dickens - Ocoee FL,
Isaac White - Groveland FL,
International Classification:
H04M001/00
H04M003/00
US Classification:
379373010
Abstract:
Methods, systems, and devices are disclosed for alerting a subscriber of network-associated information upon receipt of a telephone call. One of the systems includes a base station wirelessly transmitting to an accessory device. The base station receives the telephone call via a communications network. The base station includes a transmitter transmitting only network-associated information to the accessory device. The network-associated information represents signaling within the communications network, and the network-associated information lies outside a voice-portion of the telephone call. The accessory device includes a receiver and a display, with the receiver receiving the network-associated information and the display presenting the network-associated information. When the telephone call is received, the accessory device presents the network-associated information to the subscriber, thus informing the subscriber of the network-associated information associated with the telephone call.
