Backboard 3

US Patent:
2015027, Oct 1, 2015
Filed:
Mar 26, 2014
Appl. No.:
14/225785
Inventors:
Joseph Spinosa - Honesdale PA, US
International Classification:
A63B 21/00
A63B 23/02
A47C 31/00
Abstract:
The exercise device named Backboard 3 is designed to enable the user to perform both abdominal and back muscle strengthening exercises on the top surface of a conventional bed. For the purpose of back strengthening, the device allows the user to flex the upper body in a downward position over the end of a bed and then raise the upper body against gravity to the horizontal position. Abdominal strengthening is performed by doing what is commonly known as the sit up. The device stabilizes the lower extremities by retaining the ankles under a foam covered bar. The device is a departure from the previous art as detailed in U.S. Pat. No. 7,163,497 Spinosa, Jan. 16, 2007, by being easier to deploy and store when not in use.
