Sep 26, 2011
Appl. No.:
13/245481
Inventors:
Kareema A. McCloud - Cordova TN, US
Brian H. Friedman - Collierville TN, US
International Classification:
F04D 29/00
US Classification:
416244 R

A ceiling fan motor () is disclosed which is coupled to a motor adapter () which in turn is coupled to a downrod () and motor housing (). The motor adapter has a downrod receiver (), a motor shaft receiver (), and three mounting arms (). The downrod receiver is defined by a tubular cylindrical wall () which has a first set screw hole () and a threaded, second set screw hole () which are aligned with downrod set screw holes (). The cylindrical wall includes ridges () which are positioned on either side of the second set screw hole (). A threaded set screw () extends through the first set screw hole, through the downrod set screw holes, and threaded into the second set screw hole. The threaded set screw has a head () with a tapered portion () which abuts the downrod.
