US Patent:
2012017, Jul 12, 2012
Filed:
Nov 17, 2011
Appl. No.:
13/299324
Inventors:
Liwen L. Dai - Chino Hills CA, US
Ronald R. Hatch - Wilmington CA, US
Yujie Zhang - Lomita CA, US
Min Wang - Irvine CA, US
International Classification:
G01S 19/07
US Classification:
34235744
Abstract:
A system and method for providing improved correction information to navigation receivers includes receiving, from a plurality of reference stations at known locations, a plurality of satellite navigation measurements of signals from a plurality of global navigation satellites. A state of the plurality of global navigation satellites is computed based on the received satellite navigation measurements. Baselines, each corresponding to a pair of the reference stations, are identified. For each identified baseline, computing floating and integer values for a double-differenced integer ambiguity. Double-differenced integer ambiguities that satisfy a set of predefined conditions are identified, and the computed state of the plurality of global navigation satellites is adjusted in accordance with an integer value constraint applied to each double-differenced integer ambiguity that satisfies the set of predefined conditions. The correction information is computed from the adjusted computed state of the plurality of global navigation satellites.

Precise Outdoor Distance, Shape, And Land Area Measurement With Wireless Devices

US Patent:
2022039, Dec 8, 2022
Filed:
Jun 8, 2021
Appl. No.:
17/342415
Inventors:
- San Diego CA, US
Min WANG - Tustin CA, US
International Classification:
G01S 19/13
G01S 5/06
H04W 64/00
Abstract:
A wireless device determines a biased wireless device position and a receiver clock error for a plurality of satellites, the biased wireless device position and the receiver clock error being associated with a biased ambiguity. The wireless device calculates, upon determining the biased wireless device position and the receiver clock error, the biased ambiguity for each of the plurality of satellites. The wireless device applies the biased ambiguity to a carrier phase measurement for each of the plurality of satellites, the carrier phase measurement being associated with the receiver clock error and an absolute location of the wireless device. The wireless device determines, upon applying the biased ambiguity to the carrier phase measurement for each of the plurality of satellites, the absolute location of the wireless device based on the biased ambiguity for all of the plurality of satellites.

G01S 19/43
H04W 64/00
H04W 4/40
Abstract:
A Precise Point Positioning (PPP) system is disclosed in which one or more Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) signals are obtained by a mobile device. The mobile device can obtain position information based on one or more position sources, where the position information is indicative of a location of the mobile device. One or more PPP positions of the mobile device can be determined based on the position information and the one or more GNSS signals, where a position uncertainty of the position information meets or is below an uncertainty threshold. A determination of whether at least one PPP position meets or is below one or more convergence thresholds can be made. In response to determining that at least one PPP position meets or is below the one or more convergence thresholds, the at least one PPP position can be provided.

International Classification:
G01S 19/44
G01S 19/41
Abstract:
Described are methods, systems, and devices for determining position using Differential Global Navigation Satellite (DGNSS) measurements. Techniques described herein involve taking carrier phase measurements at a reference station or other GNSS receiver at a known location, and combining the carrier phase measurements with pseudorange measurements taken at the reference station to resolve carrier phase ambiguity and to, in combination with pseudorange measurements taken at a mobile device, obtain a differentially corrected measurement that can be used to estimate a position of the mobile device. The differentially corrected measurement can be a double differential measurement based on signals from a pair of GNSS satellites.

Precise Point Positioning (Ppp) With Modified Satellite And Clock Error Mitigation

US Patent:
2023004, Feb 16, 2023
Filed:
Aug 11, 2021
Appl. No.:
17/399602
Inventors:
- San Diego CA, US
Min WANG - Tustin CA, US
International Classification:
G01S 19/44
G01S 19/39
G01S 19/07
Abstract:
Embodiments described herein provide for enabling a mobile device comprising a GNSS receiver to implement a modified PPP technique that utilizes orbit and clock information of a satellite that is broadcast from the satellite. In particular, embodiments may utilize a positioning engine to perform PPP error mitigation with respect to various error sources (e.g., troposphere, ionosphere, phase windup, etc.). With regard to errors stemming from satellite orbit and satellite clock, embodiments may utilize orbit and clock information from broadcast ephemeris data rather than obtaining precise orbit and clock information (e.g., from a third party provider). Further, embodiments may account for errors in this broadcast information by adjusting the ambiguity dynamic and/or ambiguity estimate term used by the positioning engine. This can enable the positioning engine to determine a solution more accurate than traditional GNSS without resetting.

Abstract:
Methods and systems for performing Precise Point Positioning (PPP) ambiguity resolution using Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) triple frequency signals are described. In an embodiment, the method may include computing, using a processing device, an L1/L2 or L2/L5 wide-lane fractional bias model, in which the bias is split into one direction-independent and three direction-dependent bias components for each satellite. Additionally, the method may include resolving, using the processing device, PPP ambiguity using triple-frequency signals. The method may also include applying, using the processing device, a carrier smooth carrier function to resolve measurement noise. Resolving the PPP ambiguity may include fixing the L2/L5 wide-lane ambiguities in a geometry-free function. Additionally, resolving the PPP ambiguity may include fixing the L1/L2 wide-lane ambiguities in a geometry-based function. Similarly, resolving the PPP ambiguity may also include fixing the L1/L5 wide-lane ambiguities in a geometry-based function.
