Eddy Award for Special Projects
Pensions & Investments
As part of the INPRS communication team, I developed designs for a special marketing campaign to promote new retirement plan services and investment options. The new services were rolled out July 2010 to members of the Public Employees' Retirement Fund and Teachers' Retirement Fund. The campaign, with its Retirement Market theme, focused on promoting the services as "fresh ingredients for a healthy retirement." Retirement Market included two full-color print newsletters, two custom electronic newsletters sent as e-mail blasts, two postcard mailers, a promotional poster for employers of INPRS members, 14 online fact sheets, two custom Web pages and two online demos of the new member account management Web sites.
The campaign was very successful in educating members about the new services and investment funds and urging them to make new investment allocations online. Due to the increase in member online activity after the rollout, in addition to the design and engaging theme of the materials, the communication team received a first place Eddy Award in the Special Projects: Public category for the campaign.

Diamond Award for Consumer-Related Marketing
Public Relations Society of America - East Central District
The INPRS communication team received the highest award in the category of Consumer-Related Marketing by the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) East Central District − the Diamond Award − for Phase II of their Retirement Market campaign.
Submissions are judged and scored based on four categories: research, planning, execution and evaluation. Out of a possible 40 points, the INPRS team’s submission received 39. Judges cited the detailed planning, execution and design of materials, as well as the success of tying in research to the results of the campaign as the key factors in their decision.
As a result of the Retirement Market campaign, combined PERF and TRF statistics show an overwhelming increase in Web site activity. Web visits measured during the height of the campaign – July and August 2010 – totaled 156,459. This was a dramatic increase from visits in July and August 2009, when Web visits totaled 23,224. This increase not only demonstrated that the Retirement Market campaign had gotten members’ attention, but motivated them to take action by visiting the Web site.
