Method And System For Classifying Digital Traffic

US Patent:
7720013, May 18, 2010
Filed:
Oct 12, 2004
Appl. No.:
10/963142
Inventors:
Margaret Kelliher - Scotia NY, US
Stephen Bush - Latham NY, US
John Hershey - Ballston Lake NY, US
Scott Evans - Burnt Hills NY, US
Todd Hughes - Moorestown NJ, US
Timothy Patrick Kelliher - Scotia NY, US
Nathan Smith - Schenectady NY, US
Assignee:
Lockheed Martin Corporation - Bethesda MD
International Classification:
H04L 12/16
US Classification:
370265, 370210, 370202, 370332
Abstract:
A method and system for analyzing continuous bit segments taken from a general data channel and classifying the sampled data by type, such as: voice, audio or data. B contiguous bits are converted to plus and minus deltas. The B-replaced values are then padded with B contiguous zeroes and the Fourier Transform of the padded sequence is computed. A power spectral density is derived from the Fourier Transform. In addition to the Fourier Transform, compression and entropy algorithms are performed on strings of bits within the message. The first B terms of the power spectral density and the results of the compression and entropy algorithms are used to differentiate and classify the data types, based on the premise that the combination of power spectral density, compression and entropy results yields parameters indicative of distinct types of data messages.

Method For Automated Web Site Maintenance Via Searching

US Patent:
2001003, Nov 1, 2001
Filed:
Mar 9, 2001
Appl. No.:
09/803432
Inventors:
Margaret Kelliher - Scotia NY, US
Kathryn Dudding - Clifton Park NY, US
Robert Saltzman - Niskayuna NY, US
International Classification:
G06F017/21
US Classification:
707/530000
Abstract:
A method for adding HTML documents to a web site involves the addition of HTML keywords to each HTML document. One HTML keyword is provided per category of information. A search for each category of information is determined, and the searches are to be performed by a search engine. When a category on the web site is selected, a search engine is called to execute the search corresponding to the selected category of information. The search is not visible to a user of the web site. An up-to-date web page is presented for the selected category of information. The up-to-date web page includes a hypertext reference having a link to each pertinent HTML document this is identified by the search.

Distributed Receiver System And Method

US Patent:
2003016, Aug 28, 2003
Filed:
Feb 26, 2002
Appl. No.:
10/082728
Inventors:
John Hershey - Ballston Lake NY, US
Harold Tomlinson - Scotia NY, US
Ralph Hoctor - Saratoga Springs NY, US
Scott Evans - Burnt Hills NY, US
David Davenport - Niskayuna NY, US
Margaret Kelliher - Scotia NY, US
Kenneth Welles - Scotia NY, US
Richard Korkosz - Southwick MA, US
Stephen Hladik - Albany NY, US
Assignee:
General Electric Company
International Classification:
H04K001/00
US Classification:
375/130000
Abstract:
A distributed receiver system for communicating transmitted reference ultra wideband communications signals includes a receiver front end downconverter having a correlator for producing ultra wideband pulses from the transmitted reference ultra wideband communications signals. A digitizer is connected to the receiver front end downconverter for receiving and digitizing the ultra wideband pulses. A high bandwidth cable is connected to the digitizer for receiving the digitized ultra wideband pulses. A centralized digital processing module is connected to the high bandwidth cable for interpreting the digitized ultra wideband pulses.
