I have experience in situations that can be life or death. We do not have a physician on staff 24 hours a day and sometimes decisions need to be made to send a resident to the hospital or not. I have been supervising and also working in the building as a floor nurse. When supervising • I have to ensure that the staff is doing their job. It is my responsibility for the staff as well as the well being of all of the residents that live there. When working the hall • I can take care of as many as 30 residents at a time. I usually work on the skilled hall. These residents are short term and require more care and treatments. These people are on the high functioning scale. The treatments range from wound vacs to a simple dressing change. I am in charge of PICC lines and IV's.
