Abstract:
A lighting device configured for projecting a unique lighting to illuminate letters, figures and shapes displayed on the top of the device is disclosed. The letter and figures are interchangeable and maybe customized to individual tastes and interests. The lighting device comprises a chamber containing a light source and a plurality of reflector strips disposed in the inner portion of the chamber. The letters and figures are inserted into a longitudinal aperture at the top of the chamber and snapped onto a lip that protrudes from an aperture wall. An inclined reflector strip comprising of a plurality of flat portions and angled portions directs the light toward the bottom and sides of the letters and figures that permeates through the substantially transparent material the letters and figures comprise to produce the unique lighting effect. Alternatively, angled reflector tabs are used in lieu of the inclined reflector strip.

Sensor System For Construction Equipment Having Wireless Sonic Sensor System

US Patent:
8469630, Jun 25, 2013
Filed:
Nov 10, 2011
Appl. No.:
13/293694
Inventors:
Michael R. Olson - Brooklyn Park MN, US
Jack Zeng - Eden Prairie MN, US
Assignee:
Sauer-Danfoss Inc. - Ames IA
International Classification:
E01C 23/00
US Classification:
404 8405, 701 50
Abstract:
A sensor system for road construction equipment. The system includes a first conveyor for transporting material to a first auger that is positioned to receive the material. A first feeder sensor associated with the first conveyor is in over-the-air communication with a receiver to communicate the height of a material on the conveyor such that a master controller that is electrically connected to the receiver can regulate the amount of flow of material to the first conveyor.

Systems, Methods And Apparatus For Secure Printing Of Negotiable Instruments

US Patent:
2003001, Jan 16, 2003
Filed:
Jul 9, 2002
Appl. No.:
10/192074
Inventors:
Richard Leurig - Brentwood TN, US
Michael Olson - Bloomington MN, US
Dave Moos - Crystal MN, US
Julie Vandelac - West St. Paul MN, US
Assignee:
Travelers Express Inc. - Minneapolis MN
International Classification:
G06F017/60
US Classification:
705/064000
Abstract:
A secure system for requesting, approving, and printing negotiable instruments operates in a web-enabled browser-based environment. Users at a remote location connect to a central server using a conventional browser on a client computer via the Internet or another network. The user provides a digital credential such as a userid/password pair for authentication. If the user is approved, a secure connection between the server and the client computer is established. The secure connection may then be used to transfer print requests from the client to the server, or to transfer approved print jobs from the server to the client using data encryption and/or compression to secure the file. Before the negotiable instruments are printed, the server obtains identifying information from the printer and verifies that the user is authorized to use the particular printer. If the user is authorized, the negotiable instrument is printed on the printer. Various embodiments further provide reporting of negotiable instruments, as well as the ability to track or cancel instruments that have been previously issued/printed.

Hybrid Hydraulic Drive System Architecture

US Patent:
2013006, Mar 21, 2013
Filed:
Sep 16, 2011
Appl. No.:
13/234271
Inventors:
Brian L. Van Batavia - Delano MN, US
Timothy I. Meehan - Waconia MN, US
Michael W. Olson - Minneapolis MN, US
David L. Makis - Shakopee MN, US
Michael J. Voigt - Chaska MN, US
David S. Remba - Eden Prairie MN, US
Don R. Draper - Chanhassen MN, US
International Classification:
F16H 59/00
F16H 3/08
US Classification:
74335, 74325, 180 6521, 903902
Abstract:
A vehicle drivetrain has a first driver, a first clutch to selectively couple the first driver with an engine, an energy storage device coupled to the first driver, a second driver coupled to the energy storage device and connected to a driveshaft, and a second clutch that selectively couples the first and second drivers. In one embodiment, the first clutch is opened and the second clutch is closed during a vehicle operating condition requiring high torque, the first clutch is closed and the second clutch is opened during a transient vehicle operating condition, and the first clutch and the second clutch are closed during a steady-state vehicle operating condition. Additional clutches may be included to reduce energy losses or provide multiple mechanical ratios. The drivers themselves may be pumps, motors, generators, combined pump/motors, or combined motor/generators, making the invention suitable for both hydraulic implementation and electric implementation.
