Filed:
Aug 20, 2002
Appl. No.:
10/223630
Inventors:
Oswaldo Mino - Houston TX, US
Assignee:
Illinois Tool Works Inc. - Glenview IL
International Classification:
B65D 8800
US Classification:
220 16, 383 22, 383 24
Abstract:
A suspension system for a bulk material cargo container liner comprises a pair of vertically oriented suspension straps fixedly mounted upon opposite side, upper front nose corner regions of the bulk material cargo container liner. Each one of the suspension straps comprises a plurality of fastener grommets located predetermined distances beneath an upper edge portion of their respective suspension strap. In this manner, regardless of the elevational at which a bulk material cargo container liner support is fixedly disposed within a bulk material cargo container, the bulk material cargo container liner will be disposed at a proper elevational level within the bulk material cargo container so as to facilitate the proper inflation of the bulk material cargo container liner within the bulk material cargo container.

Abstract:
A method and apparatus for transporting bulk products is shown. At least one example of an apparatus for transporting bulk products as disclosed herein comprises the following: a liner having a top panel, a bottom panel, two sidewalls, a front panel, and a back panel; a first strap, wherein the first strap is partially attached to each of the sidewalls and to the back panel so that the first strap has a first pair of diagonal sections, said first pair of diagonal sections comprising a first diagonal section suspended between a first sidewall and the back panel and a second diagonal section suspended between a second sidewall and the back panel; and a second strap, wherein the second strap is partially attached to each of the sidewalls and to the back panel, wherein at least one overlapping region of the second strap overlaps an overlapping region of the first strap. The apparatus may further include a third strap that is partially attached to each of the sidewalls and to the back panel similar to the first strap and the second strap.

Reinforced Bulk Container Liner

US Patent:
2003019, Oct 23, 2003
Filed:
Apr 18, 2002
Appl. No.:
10/124230
Inventors:
Oswaldo Mino - Houston TX, US
Assignee:
ILLINOIS TOOL WORKS INC.
International Classification:
B65D088/00
US Classification:
220/001600
Abstract:
A bulk container liner for use in conjunction with bulk material cargo containers comprises a woven reinforcement sheet integrally secured upon a rear wall surface of the bulk container liner for effectively forming a bulkhead structure therewith in order to provide the rear portion of the bulk container liner with enhanced strength and load resistance within the rear door region of the bulk material cargo container. Support ropes, straps, or cables are also operatively connected to upper regions of the bulk container liner so as to facilitate the erection and support of the bulk container liner within the bulk material cargo container, particularly during cargo unloading operations which conventionally comprise the tilting of the bulk material cargo container around the lower rear edge portion thereof. The unloading or discharge port of the bulk container liner also has operative associated therewith structure which variably constricts or expands the diametrical extent thereof so as to permit the unloading or discharge port of the bulk container liner to be universally useable with different bulk material receiver mechanisms.

Tilt-Less Discharge Liner System For Bulk Material Cargo Containers

US Patent:
2004002, Feb 5, 2004
Filed:
Aug 1, 2002
Appl. No.:
10/209607
Inventors:
Oswaldo Mino - Houston TX, US
Assignee:
ILLINOIS TOOL WORKS INC.
International Classification:
B65D035/28
US Classification:
222/001000, 222/105000, 222/386500, 222/095000, 222/389000
Abstract:
A bulk material cargo container system comprises an inflatable bulk material cargo container liner which has a plurality of inflatable air bags integrally incorporated therein. The inflatable air bags have substantially right triangular configurations when disposed in their inflated states such that hypotenuse portions of the inflatable air bags are inclined downwardly with respect to the bottom surface portion of the bulk material cargo container liner. In this manner, when the inflatable air bags are inflated in accordance with a predetermined sequential operation, the bulk material cargo load can be discharged from the bulk material cargo container liner without the need for tilting the bulk material cargo container and the liner contained therein. In addition, the bulk material cargo container, having the new and improved bulk material cargo container liner disposed therein, can be used as a silo or storage facility for the bulk cargo load material wherein the inflatable air bags can be inflated to predetermined degrees so as to cause predetermined portions of the bulk cargo load material to be discharged as desired.

Bulk Material Cargo Container Liner With Internal Restraint System For Preventing The Outward Bulging Of The Liner

US Patent:
2007002, Feb 1, 2007
Filed:
Sep 7, 2004
Appl. No.:
10/570688
Inventors:
Oswaldo Mino - Houston TX, US
Michael McMahon - Palatine IL, US
Stanley Piotrowski - Addison IL, US
Doug Miller - Kingwood TX, US
International Classification:
B60R 13/01
US Classification:
296039100
Abstract:
A bulk container liner assembly for use in conjunction with a bulk material cargo container comprises structure incorporated therein such that restraint forces are impressed upon or transmitted to the back or rear wall member of the bulk material cargo container liner, along linearly seamed loci, so as to effectively prevent the back or rear wall member of the bulk material cargo container liner from experiencing or undergoing any outward bulging thereof under the influence of the hydrostatic head load forces generated internally within the bulk material cargo container liner as a result of the charging of bulk cargo material into the interior portion of the bulk material cargo container liner.

Tiltless Bulk Material Cargo Container Liner System For Use With Bulk Material Cargo Containers

US Patent:
2007004, Mar 1, 2007
Filed:
Oct 11, 2006
Appl. No.:
11/545611
Inventors:
Michael McMahon - Palatine IL, US
Stanley Piotrowski - Addison IL, US
Douglas Miller - Kingwood TX, US
Oswaldo Mino - Houston TX, US
Shelley Stopper - Houston TX, US
International Classification:
B60P 1/04
US Classification:
414467000
Abstract:
A bulk material cargo container liner system comprises an inflatable bulk material cargo container liner which has at least one vacuum discharge tube member disposed internally within the bulk material cargo container liner and extending throughout the longitudinal extent thereof for discharging bulk cargo material outwardly from the bulk material cargo container liner, and at least one inflatable air bag component which also extends throughout the longitudinal extent of the bulk material cargo container liner and is initially disposed in a deflated state but which is adapted to be disposed in an inflated state when the bulk cargo material can no longer be evacuated under natural gravitational forces. By inflating the at least one inflatable air bag component, the angle of repose of the bulk cargo material disposed internally within the bulk material cargo container liner is effectively altered in a positive manner so as to cause the bulk cargo material to again flow toward the at least one vacuum discharge tube member whereby the bulk cargo material can be evacuated from the bulk material cargo container liner without the need for tilting the bulk material cargo container and the liner contained therein.
