About:
I was born in Yorkshire and live near Philadelphia, USA. In frustration with my Episcopalian church for refusing to discuss progressive spiritual views, I have started an independent forum. Its aim is...

I first became actively engaged in my own spiritual decision making when I refused become confirmed: I could not claim a belief that I did not fully hold. At the age of 16 I left Yorkshire, England to join the Merchant Navy. After a period of debauchery, I was dramatically converted to Christianity. Then each port became an opportunity for evangelism in streets and at rallies. I also gave testimonies and enjoyed fellowship in Christian congregations of many denominations. I took a Baptist Lay Preaching course. But after a while I started asking questions that my dogma would not address. I began to explore and worship with other faiths, denominations and sects. I also delved into secular social, political and economic ideas and began my quest for social justice and equality of opportunities. When I was 29, I graduated with a degree in Political Economy from the London School of Economics. In 1980 I came to America for a creative writing program, and continued my spiritual journey; this included becoming a Director of Religion at a Unitarian Fellowship. I have also created and led innovative services; written a collection of meditative prayers and three libretti (my website is readitheatre.com). On my journey, I have been involved with numerous religious communities and various social action programs. I have worked in a variety of occupations, including teaching, social work and professional writing. Now I am retired I enjoy renewed energy to dedicate myself, not only to my own evolving faith, but to share my beleifs in compassionate, enthusiastic and assertive ways.
