Methods And Measurement Engine For Aligning Multi-Projector Display Systems

US Patent:
7019713, Mar 28, 2006
Filed:
Oct 30, 2002
Appl. No.:
10/283719
Inventors:
Mark Hereld - Chicago IL, US
Ivan R. Judson - Chicago IL, US
Rick L. Stevens - Naperville IL, US
Assignee:
The University of Chicago - Chicago IL
International Classification:
G09G 5/00
US Classification:
345 11, 345 13, 345 4
Abstract:
An image pattern description is stored and tiled display test pattern images are captured. The stored image pattern description and at least one captured tiled display test pattern image are used to identify a tile array placement and layout; a tile registration measurement; and a dot grid measurement providing measured dot grid positions. At least one captured tiled display test pattern images and the measured dot grid positions are used for calculating tile-to-camera maps and a camera-to-mural map. The tile-to-camera maps and the camera-to-mural map are used to generate control and correction data.

Method To Smooth Photometric Variations Across Multi-Projector Displays

US Patent:
7038727, May 2, 2006
Filed:
Oct 30, 2002
Appl. No.:
10/283991
Inventors:
Aditi Majumder - Woodridge IL, US
Rick L. Stevens - Naperville IL, US
Assignee:
The University of Chicago - Chicago IL
International Classification:
H04N 5/66
US Classification:
348383, 348189, 348745
Abstract:
A method is provided to smooth photometric variations across multi-projector displays. Photometric calibration is performed to generate a luminance attenuation map (LAM) for each projector. An image for each projector is modified using the luminance attenuation map (LAM) for each projector to provide image correction in real time. In the photometric calibration step a digital camera is used to measure the color response of the multi-projector display. Using the generated luminance attenuation map (LAM) for each projector for image correction in real time smoothes out distracting color variations across the multi-projector display while maximizing a perceived dynamic range of the display.

Systems And Methods For Reinforcement Learning Molecular Modeling

US Patent:
2022035, Nov 3, 2022
Filed:
Apr 29, 2021
Appl. No.:
17/244711
Inventors:
- Chicago IL, US
Arvind Ramanathan - Naperville IL, US
Rick Stevens - Plainfield IL, US
Assignee:
UCHICAGO ARGONNE, LLC - Chicago IL
International Classification:
G16C 20/30
G16C 20/70
G16B 5/20
G16B 15/30
G16B 40/00
Abstract:
A system can include one or more processors configured to identify a candidate molecule, provide the candidate molecule as an input to a simulation, operate the simulation, monitor at least one parameter of the simulation, modify the candidate molecule based on the at least one parameter, and output the modified candidate molecule responsive to a convergence condition being satisfied.

Soft-Sided Insulated Container With Inflatable Wall Structure

US Patent:
2014024, Sep 4, 2014
Filed:
Mar 1, 2013
Appl. No.:
13/782489
Inventors:
Melvin S. Mogil - Toronto, CA
Rick Stevens - Chicago IL, US
Ryan Mather - Boulder CO, US
International Classification:
B65D 81/38
US Classification:
383 3
Abstract:
A soft-sided insulated container assembly is made of a flexible wall structure that is movable between a collapsed position and a deployed position. In one variation of the deployed position it resembles a tote-bag; in another variation of folding the deployed position corresponds to a generally box-like shape. The container includes a self-inflating wall structure that has an inner layer or skin, an outer layer or skin, and a resilient, open-cell insulating layer trapped between the two skins. A valve governs the ability to take in or to expel air. The outer layer may be thicker and more robust that the inner layer, the better to resist abrasion or punctures. The inner layer may be reflective. There may be a removable internal liner. That liner may be transparent.
