High Affinity Integrin Polypeptides And Uses Thereof

US Patent:
7064180, Jun 20, 2006
Filed:
Jan 11, 2001
Appl. No.:
09/758493
Inventors:
M. Amin Arnaout - Chestnut Hill MA, US
Rui Li - Medford MA, US
Jian-Ping Xiong - Quincy MA, US
Assignee:
The General Hospital Corporation - Boston MA
International Classification:
A61K 38/04
US Classification:
530324
Abstract:
Polypeptides comprising all or part of a variant integrin α subunit A domain or a variant integrin β subunit A-like domain are described. In solution or in membrane-associated form, the A domain or the A-like domain of the polypeptides of the invention exists predominantly in a high affinity conformation. In the polypeptides of the invention, referred to as variant integrin polypeptides, a crucial isoleucine residue (described in greater detail below) is absent. The isoleucine can be either deleted or replaced with different amino acids residue, preferably a smaller or less hydrophobic amino acid residue, e. g. , alanine or glycine. Because the variant integrin polypeptides of the invention exist in solution or in membrane-associated form predominantly in a high affinity conformation, they are useful in screening assays for the identification of molecules that bind to (and/or mediate the activity of) an integrin. They are also useful for generating antibodies, e. g. , monoclonal antibodies, which bind to the high affinity form of an integrin.

Variant Integrin Polypeptides And Uses Thereof

US Patent:
7323552, Jan 29, 2008
Filed:
May 10, 2002
Appl. No.:
10/144259
Inventors:
M. Amin Arnaout - Chestnut Hill MA, US
Rui Li - Medford MA, US
Jian-Ping Xiong - Quincy MA, US
Assignee:
The General Hospital Corporation - Boston MA
International Classification:
C07K 1/107
A61K 38/04
G01N 33/53
US Classification:
530402, 435 71, 530324
Abstract:
Polypeptides comprising all or part of a variant integrin α subunit A domain and its flanking region are described. In solution or in membrane-associated form, the A domain polypeptides of the invention exists predominantly in a high affinity conformation. In the polypeptides of the invention, referred to as variant integrin polypeptides, a crucial isoleucine or glutamic acid residue is altered. For example, the glutamic acid can be either deleted or replaced with different amino acids residue, e. g. , glutamine, aspartic acid, or alanine The variant integrin polypeptides of the invention selectively impair binding of activation-dependent ligands, but not independent ligands. They are useful in screening assays for the identification of molecules that enhance binding of variant polypeptides with impaired binding. In addition, they are useful in distinguishing between activation-dependent ligands and activation-independent ligands. They are also useful for generating antibodies, e. g.

Image Segmentation Using Spatial Random Walks

US Patent:
8218869, Jul 10, 2012
Filed:
Mar 29, 2009
Appl. No.:
12/413593
Inventors:
Fatih M. Porikli - Watertown MA, US
Rui Li - Brookline MA, US
Assignee:
Mitsubishi Electric Research Laboratories, Inc. - Cambridge MA
International Classification:
G06K 9/34
US Classification:
382173
Abstract:
The embodiments of the invention describe a method for segmenting an image. We perform an initial segmentation of the image to produce a previous segmented region and segment iteratively the image using a spatial random walk based on a shape prior of the previous segmented region to produce a next segmented region. We compare the next segmented region with the previous segmented region, and repeat the segmenting and the comparing until the previous and next segmented regions converge. After that, we select the next segmented region as a final segmented region.

Variant Integrin Polypeptides And Uses Thereof

International Classification:

In addition, they are useful in distinguishing between activation-dependent ligands and activation-independent ligands. They are also useful for generating antibodies, e.g., monoclonal antibodies, which bind to the impaired form of an integrin. Some such antibodies recognize an epitope that is either not present or not accessible on an integrin that is in the high affinity conformation. The variant integrin polypeptides of the invention can be derived from any integrin α subunit that could be used therapeutically.

Voltage Droop Control

US Patent:
2018004, Feb 15, 2018
Filed:
Oct 23, 2017
Appl. No.:
15/791226
Inventors:
- San Diego CA, US
Daniel Stasiak - Austin TX, US
Martin Pierre Saint-Laurent - Austin TX, US
Rui Li - San Diego CA, US
Bin Liang - San Diego CA, US
Sei Seung Yoon - San Diego CA, US
Chulmin Jung - San Diego CA, US
International Classification:
G05F 1/10
G06F 1/32
H02M 1/32
Abstract:
A computer-readable storage medium for controlling voltage droop storing instructions that, when executed by a processor, cause a device to perform operations including receiving a first voltage to a first input of a first component of a device. The first voltage corresponding to a first logical value causes a first internal power supply of the first component to be charged using an external power supply. The operations further include providing a second voltage to a second input of a second component of the device in response to a first voltage level of the first internal power supply satisfying a second voltage level. The second voltage corresponding to the first logical value causes a second internal power supply of the second component of the device to be charged using the external power supply.
