Real-Time Spatio-Temporal Coherence Estimation For Autonomous Mode Identification And Invariance Tracking

US Patent:
2003001, Jan 23, 2003
Filed:
Mar 6, 2002
Appl. No.:
10/092471
Inventors:
Mark James - Pasadena CA, US
Ryan Mackey - Pasadena CA, US
Han Park - Arcadia CA, US
Michail Zak - Cypress CA, US
Assignee:
California Institute of Technology in Pasadena, California - Pasadena CA
International Classification:
H04L001/22
US Classification:
714/025000
Abstract:
A general method of anomaly detection from time-correlated sensor data is disclosed. Multiple time-correlated signals are received. Their cross-signal behavior is compared against a fixed library of invariants. The library is constructed during a training process, which is itself data-driven using the same time-correlated signals. The method is applicable to a broad class of problems and is designed to respond to any departure from normal operation, including faults or events that lie outside the training envelope.

Exception Analysis For Multimissions

US Patent:
2003001, Jan 16, 2003
Filed:
Mar 6, 2002
Appl. No.:
10/092491
Inventors:
Mark James - Pasadena CA, US
Ryan MacKey - Pasadena CA, US
Han Park - Arcadia CA, US
Michail Zak - Cypress CA, US
Assignee:
California Institute of Technology - Pasadena CA
International Classification:
H04L001/22
US Classification:
714/025000
Abstract:
A generalized formalism for diagnostics and prognostics in an instrumented system which can provide sensor data and discrete system variable takes into consideration all standard forms of data, both time-varying (sensor or extracted feature) quantities and discrete measurements, embedded physical and symbolic models, and communication with other autonomy-enabling components such as planners and schedulers. This approach can be adapted to on-board or off-board implementations with no change to the underlying principles.
