Apparatus And Method For Transmitting Audio Over A Dedicated Video Line

US Patent:
6952237, Oct 4, 2005
Filed:
Apr 2, 2004
Appl. No.:
10/817722
Inventors:
Samuel N. Grigorian - Fresno CA, US
Assignee:
Pelco - Clovis CA
International Classification:
H04N007/08
H04N005/455
H04N005/268
H04N005/40
US Classification:
348484, 348485, 348705, 348706, 348724, 348726
Abstract:
Disclosed is a method and apparatus for transmission of audio signals over a dedicated video transmission line in which the analog audio signal is inserted into and becomes a part of the video signal. Samples of the audio signal are inserted into the active video line, either at the beginnings or endings, or both, of each active video line scan signal. A defined amount of the active video interval is reserved from the active video line, and is replaced with samples of the analog audio signal. An analog switch in the modulator of the invention toggles to pick up the samples of audio and place them at the designated location (either at the beginnings or at the ends) of each active video line scan signal. A corresponding switch in the demodulator of the invention toggles to retrieve the audio samples from the active video line scans for output to the user. Stereo and/or bi-directional audio signals can be transmitted by insertion into both the beginnings and the endings of the active video line scan signals.

Apparatus And Method Of Storing Video Data

US Patent:
7302159, Nov 27, 2007
Filed:
Nov 12, 2004
Appl. No.:
10/988229
Inventors:
Samuel Nikolay Grigorian - Fresno CA, US
Assignee:
Pelco - Clovis CA
International Classification:
H04N 5/91
H04N 7/26
H04N 5/00
US Classification:
386 68, 386125, 386111
Abstract:
An apparatus for and method of storing video data comprising receiving an MPEG video stream comprising I-frames and P-frames, separating the I-frames from the P-frames, storing the I-frames and the P-frames separately, and providing information so that the I-frames and the P-frames can be combined to produce a full-motion video.

Method And Apparatus For Compensating For Movement Of A Video Surveillance Camera

US Patent:
8035691, Oct 11, 2011
Filed:
Aug 1, 2006
Appl. No.:
11/496811
Inventors:
Samuel Nikolay Grigorian - Fresno CA, US
Yuriy Kamko - Clovis CA, US
Robert Sexton - Fresno CA, US
Assignee:
Pelco, Inc. - Clovis CA
International Classification:
H04N 5/228
H04N 7/18
US Classification:
3482084, 34820814, 348143
Abstract:
A method of compensating for the movement of a video surveillance camera comprising the steps of moving an interlaced camera, capturing a first video field of a frame at a first point in time, capturing a second video field of a frame at a second point in time, determining the speed at which the camera is moving, and shifting the relationship between the first and second video fields based on the period of time between the first point in time and the second point in time and the speed at which the camera is moving.

Line Tapping Method Of Video Amplification For Unshielded Twisted Pair Active Receiver

US Patent:
8059208, Nov 15, 2011
Filed:
Sep 26, 2008
Appl. No.:
12/239481
Inventors:
Samuel N. Grigorian - Fresno CA, US
Yogita S. Karkhanis - Fresno CA, US
Sourikhan K. Kopanhnha - Fresno CA, US
Assignee:
Pelco, Inc. - Clovis CA
International Classification:
H04N 17/02
US Classification:
348707
Abstract:
Embodiments of the present invention include systems, methods and apparatus for amplifying a composite video signal transmitted over long distance unshielded twisted pair cabling. The apparatus and system may include a plurality of amplifiers, an analog switch, and a control unit. The control unit generates a configuration signal to enable the output of one or more amplifiers (which may be serially connected) and configure the analog switch. A user input may be provided for manually configuring the amplifiers and analog switch. When the video signal is a color signal, the control unit may automatically configure the amplifiers and analog switch with reference to the amplitude of the color burst.

Method For Prolonging Crt Screen Life By Reduced Phosphor Burning

US Patent:
2001003, Nov 1, 2001
Filed:
Apr 26, 2001
Appl. No.:
09/844046
Inventors:
William Hamilton - Clovis CA, US
Samuel Grigorian - Fresno CA, US
Assignee:
Pelco
International Classification:
G09G005/00
US Classification:
345/682000, 345/867000, 348/173000
Abstract:
Disclosed is a method for reducing the burning of the phosphor of cathode ray tube (CRT) monitor screens used in television systems where necessary textual information is constantly displayed over a video image on the CRT screen. The method involves periodically changing the location of the textual information overlaid onto the video image without altering the information itself so that the information is continuously available, but does not remain in the same place for a prolonged time period which might otherwise burn into the phosphor of the CRT screen. The textual information may be moved as frequently as once per hour to as seldom as once every week or more; and may be move as little as one pixel to as much as several character positions. It is preferred that timing and location of movement of the textual information not be annoying to the user, and that the textual information be positioned discretely on the CRT screen in order to avoid blockage of the underlying video image as much as possible.
