Packet Boundary Spanning Pattern Matching Based At Least In Part Upon History Information

US Patent:
2011014, Jun 16, 2011
Filed:
Dec 14, 2009
Appl. No.:
12/637488
Inventors:
Sanjeev Jain - Chandler AZ, US
Christopher F. Clark - Chandler AZ, US
David K. Cassetti - Tempe AZ, US
International Classification:
G06F 17/30
G06F 15/16
G06F 21/00
US Classification:
707687, 709224, 707769, 726 24, 713188, 707E17014, 707E17005
Abstract:
An embodiment may include circuitry to determine, at least in part, based at least in part upon history information, whether one or more reference patterns are present in a data stream in a packet flow. The data stream may span at least one packet boundary in the packet flow. The history information may include a beginning portion of a packet in the data stream, an ending portion of the packet, and another portion of the data stream. The circuitry may overwrite the another portion of the history information with a respective portion of the data stream to be examined by the circuitry depending, at least in part, upon whether the circuitry determines, at least in part, whether the one or more reference patterns are present in the data stream. The respective portion may be relatively closer than the another portion is to a beginning of the data stream.

Securing Memory Accesses In A Virtualized Environment

US Patent:
2020035, Nov 12, 2020
Filed:
Jul 23, 2020
Appl. No.:
16/937296
Inventors:
- Santa Clara CA, US
Sanjeev Jain - Chandler AZ, US
Mark Douglas Hummel - Franklin MA, US
Vyas Venkataraman - Sharon MA, US
Olivier Giroux - Santa Clara CA, US
Larry Robert Dennison - Mendon MA, US
Alexander Toichi Ishii - Lebanon NH, US
Hemayet Hossain - San Jose CA, US
Nir Haim Arad - Snoqualmie WA, US
International Classification:
G06F 12/1027
Abstract:
Multiprocessor clusters in a virtualized environment conventionally fail to provide memory access security, which is frequently a requirement for efficient utilization in multi-client settings. Without adequate access security, a malicious process may access what might be confidential data that belongs to a different client sharing the multiprocessor cluster. Furthermore, an inadvertent programming error in the code for one client process may accidentally corrupt data that belongs to the different client. Neither scenario is acceptable. Embodiments of the present disclosure provide access security by enabling each processing node within a multiprocessor cluster to virtualize and manage local memory access and only process access requests possessing proper access credentials. In this way, different applications executing on a multiprocessor cluster may be isolated from each other while advantageously sharing the hardware resources of the multiprocessor cluster.

Pipelined Hash Table With Reduced Collisions

US Patent:
2017028, Oct 5, 2017
Filed:
Apr 1, 2016
Appl. No.:
15/088726
Inventors:
Sanjeev Jain - Chandler AZ, US
Karl S. Papadantonakis - Agoura Hills CA, US
Robert G. Southworth - Chatsworth CA, US
Alain Gravel - Thousand Oaks CA, US
Jonathan A. Dama - Encino CA, US
International Classification:
G06F 3/06
H04L 29/08
Abstract:
Apparatuses and methods for pipelined hashing are described herein. An example apparatus to perform a pipelined hash function may include a first memory to store a first plurality of bucket records, a second memory to store a second plurality of bucket records, and a hash circuit to receive a key and to perform a pipelined hash function using the key to provide a hash value. The hash circuit further to select a first bucket record of the first plurality of bucket records from the first memory based on a first subset of bits of the hash value. The hash circuit further to provide a location of a particular entry of an entry record of the plurality of entry records based on contents of the first bucket record and a second subset of bits of the hash value.

Techniques For Selectively Reducing Power Levels Of Ports And Core Switch Logic In Infiniband Switches

US Patent:
2017007, Mar 16, 2017
Filed:
Nov 29, 2016
Appl. No.:
15/363291
Inventors:
- Santa Clara CA, US
Sanjeev Jain - Chandler AZ, US
Assignee:
lntel Corporation - Santa Clara CA
International Classification:
G06F 1/32
G06F 13/40
Abstract:
Methods for performing power management of InfiniBand (IB) switches and apparatus and software configured to implement the methods. Power management datagrams (MADs) are used to inform IB switches that host servers connected to the IB switch's ports are to transition to a reduced-power or offline state or have returned to a normal operating state. A subnet management agent (SMA) on the IB switch receives the power MADs from the host servers and tracks each server's operating state. In response to power down MADs, the SMA coordinates power reduction of the switch's ports and other switch circuitry. For switches with multi-port IB interfaces, a multi-port interface is caused to enter a reduced-power state when all of its ports are connected to host servers that are idle or offline. Additionally, when all of a switch's ports are connected to idle or offline servers the SMA may put the switch's core switch logic into a reduced-power state. Power MADs are also used to inform upstream IB switches when a switch is to transition to a reduced power state or has returned to a normal operating state.

Technologies For Access Control

US Patent:
2016019, Jun 30, 2016
Filed:
Dec 27, 2014
Appl. No.:
14/583638
Inventors:
Sanjeev Jain - Chandler AZ, US
Ronen Chayat - Haifa, IL
International Classification:
H04L 29/06
Abstract:
Technologies for performing access control include a computing device that parses a network packet received by the computing device to identify an n-tuple of a header of the network packet, wherein the n-tuple is associated with one or more access control rules. The computing devices determines a bitmask associated with an access control rule of a virtual machine of the computing device and applies the determined bitmask to the n-tuple of the network packet to generate a masked n-tuple. Further, the computing device generates a hash of the masked n-tuple and compares the generated hash to a reference hash associated with the access control rule to identify a match. The computing device performs an access control action in response to identifying a match between the generated hash and the reference hash.
