Ramanathan Palaniappan - Seattle WA, US
James K. Keiger - Seattle WA, US
Assignee:
Amazon Technologies, Inc. - Reno NV
International Classification:
G06F 17/30
US Classification:
707769
Abstract:
Disclosed are various embodiments for facilitating access to multiple facets of data. A registry is maintained for multiple facets for a type of business object. Each of the facets corresponds to a distinct set of properties for the type of business object. Two or more facets are hosted by different data stores. The type of business object has a common identifier for each one of the respective facets. A request for a listing of facets for the type of business object is obtained from a client. The listing of facets is provided to the client. The listing of facets is configured to facilitate access to data for each of the facets in the listing from the data stores for the client.

Workflow Discovery Through User Action Monitoring

US Patent:

Filed:
Oct 12, 2011
Appl. No.:
13/271840
Inventors:
Simon K. Johnston - Snohomish WA, US
Assignee:
Amazon Technologies, Inc. - Reno NV
International Classification:
G06Q 10/00
US Classification:
705 727
Abstract:
Disclosed are various embodiments for discovering workflows through analysis of user actions. Workflow descriptions are entered by multiple users over a period of time as the users perform user actions. Each workflow description includes a sequence of user action descriptions. One or more candidate workflows are determined by identifying repeated patterns among the workflow descriptions.

Polymeric Systems For Delivering Hypohalide Salts

US Patent:
2013011, May 9, 2013
Filed:
Jan 20, 2011
Appl. No.:
13/574467
Inventors:
Yuyu Sun - Sioux Falls SD, US
Zhengbing Cao - Sioux Falls SD, US
Simon Johnston - Bellevue WA, US
Assignee:
THE UNIVERSITY OF SOUTH DAKOTA - Vermillion SD
International Classification:
A01N 25/10
US Classification:
424404, 424409, 424661, 427379, 427381, 4273855
Abstract:
The invention relates to polymeric systems for stabilizing, storing and delivering hypohalide salts. One system consists of material coated with two layers: one prepared from polyethylene glycol epoxide and melamine solution and second prepared from inorganic hypohalide salt solution. The material can be fabric, cotton, bamboo, cellulosic materials, blend of cellulosic and synthetic fibres. Antimicrobial materials comprising this system are also described. Another system consists of material containing pre-formed spaces coated with water-polyethylene glycol solution of hypohalide salt and encapsulated by film forming polymer. Hypohalide salts within both systems are in some cases storage stable for at least three months.

Method And Apparatus For Protecting Against Cross Contamination Of Patients Caused By Oral Reflux In Dental Instrument Water And Air Lines

US Patent:
5961326, Oct 5, 1999
Filed:
Aug 26, 1997
Appl. No.:
8/918815
Inventors:
Simon E. Johnston - Kirkland WA
Anna M. Johnston - Kirkland WA
Jeffrey F. Williams - Mason MI
Assignee:
SciTech Dental, Inc. - Seattle WA
International Classification:
A61G 1702
US Classification:
433 80
Abstract:
A filter and one-way valve for protecting a dental patient from contamination by bacteria that may be picked up by water flowing through a supply line and to prevent cross contamination of patients from the reflux of fluid from inside a patient's mouth. Several different embodiments of the invention are disclosed, including a filter/one-way valve (38) that combines a filter (42) with a one-way valve (46) in an integral assembly. This assembly is installed in a water line (34) supplying water to an air/water syringe (20), or other dental instrument, such as a dental hand piece (160), or an ultrasonic scalar. Alternatively, a separate filter is installed in the water (and/or air) line upstream of the dental instrument, and a one-way valve (140) is installed between the head of the dental instrument and a tip through which water is injected into the mouth of a patient. Furthermore, an adapter (170) that couples to a bypass circuit in which the filter/one-way valve is installed enables the benefits of the present invention to be achieved with respect to the high-speed hand piece without cutting into a line (188) through which water and other fluids are supplied to the hand piece.

Method And Apparatus For Preventing Bacteriological Contamination By A Dental Tool Water Line

US Patent:
5204004, Apr 20, 1993
Filed:
May 29, 1992
Appl. No.:
7/891440
Inventors:
Simon E. Johnston - Kirkland WA
Anna M. Johnston - Kirkland WA
Jeffrey F. Williams - Mason MI
International Classification:
A61G 1702
US Classification:
210651
Abstract:
A method and apparatus are disclosed for preventing bacterial contamination from being introduced into a dental patient's mouth from water flowing through a dental tool water line. A flexible water line typically used for supplying water to a dental syringe, high-speed hand piece, or ultrasonic scaler has been found to support and encourage the growth of a significant biofilm that serves as a source of bacteria. To prevent the bacteria from being introduced into a patient's mouth by water flowing through the line, and thus into the patient's system, an in-line water filter is installed within the water line supplying water to the dental tool, at a point adjacent thereto. Conventional Luer fittings on the in-line water filter facilitate its quick installation and replacement. In addition, a cap protects the sterility of the outlet port of the in-line water filter during the installation process. The in-line water filter includes a microporous membrane that blocks bacteria and other particulate matter larger than approximately 0.

Composition For The Prevention And Elimination Of Odors

US Patent:
2021027, Sep 9, 2021
Filed:
May 20, 2021
Appl. No.:
17/325412
Inventors:
Jeffrey F. Williams - Langley WA, US
Simon Johnston - Bellevue WA, US
Assignee:
OXISCIENCE, LLC - Bellevue WA
International Classification:
A61L 2/18
C02F 1/76
B01D 46/00
A01K 1/015
Abstract:
Articles can be provided with odor resistance by applying a dispersion of a halogenated heterocyclic N-halamine in an inert liquid carrier onto the surface of the article and allowing the inert liquid carrier to penetrate into it. The N-halamine accordingly becomes deposited on the surface of the article after the inert liquid carrier penetrates into the article. This method can be used to provide odor resistance to a variety of substrates, including garbage bags. It can also be used to deposit other functional particulates onto the surface of substrates having sufficient porosity to take up the vehicle. For instance, such functional particles can be oxidants that display antimicrobial and/or enzyme inhibitory efficacy or particles having toxin interaction potentials through oxidative degradation or adsorption of toxic substances in air and/or water, such as fluoride uptake by metal oxide microparticles.

Generating Digital Files For Garment Production

Chetan Shivarudrappa - Sammamish WA, US
Gabriel J. Zimmerman - New York NY, US
International Classification:
A41H 3/00
G06F 17/50
Abstract:
Methods and systems are provided to generate a base digital file for a garment and a custom digital file for the garment, which may be used in garment production. For example, a system may receive information providing various specifications for manufacturing a garment, generate a base digital file for the garment, receive a request to transform the garment from a first garment size to a second garment size, and then generate a custom digital file for the garment by applying custom user body measurements to the base digital file or by applying a grading scale.
