Proud husband to Sandy Hough (elementary teacher at JD, before moving to Maine to allow me to get my BS in 3 years and then finding and getting to teach 3rd, 4th and 5th grades as a teacher @ the Airline School just Northeast of the town of East Holden, where we lived after getting married in 1997) becoming Principal of the school for the last 2 of 3 years she taught there, developing the school library, new play ground with new equipment purchased and paid for by the parents. Then in her last year organized a field trip to Boston, MA to see a Red Socks game, with 2 school bus loads of both parents and students (who although living less then 40 miles form the the ocean coast of Maine, had never seen or experienced it their lives) in a little 3 teacher school, situated in a commercial blue berry field, before moving back to Syracuse, [where we lived in an apartment overlooking Erie Blvd, and a rendering plant (now closed that produced a horrible odor when it was actively rendering the hides and etc. off of various kinds of animal carcasses - and now has a Lowes store situated, where the rendering plant was located.) then getting a teaching job back @ JD as an elementary teacher, followed by taking a break while raising our 4 children as a full time stay @ home Mom, till our 4 kids were all past the age of 6. Where she then reentered the work force 1st as a substitute teacher at various CNY school districts, before landing a job at various elementary grades @ ESM School District and which then lead to a teaching position for the past (I think 10+ years) as a 1st grade teacher within the ESM district @ Minoa Elementary School!] we'll be married 35 years this coming 11/12/2012! :0) All this time while I working up the food chain 1st at LIberty Mutual earning a 6 figure income (finally after leaving teaching more then halfway through my Masters in secondary science education, then leaving their employment after almost 25 years, to become a commercial broker for USI as VP and head of their newly formed Syracuse Office (where I worked for 2.5 years prior to retirement) and olny stayed open a year and 1 month prior to closing the office), am a very proud parent of 4 great kids, and now 1 and about to add another son in law!, A flat water kayaker an avid wilderness camper using a hammock strung between 2 trees, with a tarp stung up on a line right above my hammock, past Boy Scout leader, traveled all across the US of A, most of Canada (at least all the provinces that you can drive through or to), and graduated with a 3.0 grade point average from the University of Main located above Bangor, Maine in Orono (home of the true Black Bears and a pretty decent Football Team and of course Hockey Team. Financed with my GI Ed Benefits after I 1st established myself as a resident of Maine, to take advantage of in state tuition (which @ the time was only $500/semester) while before getting my 1st Maine job @ Winterport Docks Co. shipping great "Grade A" Maine Potatoes to France, Then as an orderly at the Bangor City Hospital, where I then challenged the state LPN test, becoming the 1st male President of the state LPN Association (being invited as president of the LPN assoc. to have lunch with the Governor. Then after my 1st of 3 years attending U Of M, I found a great job at, as a Veteren's Counran's Councilor, making a better & tax free wage @ the time and also providing a quiet office to study (when my fellow VA Councilors - 4 0r 5 of us, didn't want to play cards... Hearts or Spades were the favorite game back then) as I earned a BS with dual majors in Pre-Med/Zoology, Physics and a minor in Education - both middle and high school biology/physics (as a back up just in case nothing else worked out in what was then a sucky economy...) after seeing a Pharmaceutical Sales Rep job, which fellow through, leaving my only 1 alternative to except one of the teaching positions offered to me as a teacher, teaching Physics in the Solvay, NY School District (As a 12th grade teacher, teaching 2 Regents level course with less then 40 students divided between 2 classes, when I was first hired along with some 9th grade non-regents general science classes I think 2 or 3) in the fall 1980. I also taught and greatly enjoyed a 9th grade "special needs general science class" for the full 4 years of my teaching career, where I revamped the Regents Physics course to be a hands on lab course as well as developing a non-regents Physics course where in combination I was teaching over 125 students split between all subject areas with a passage rate by my Regent's Class Physics course of close to 98%! I only left teaching due to the low salary of < $14,000. while more then halfway through my masters program, at SUNY @ Cortland, and my ability start working, right after the school year ended in 6/1984. First making $14,000+ commissions at Liberty Mutual while moving through the positions of Commercial Sales Rep, Resident Sales Rep in Jamestown. NY, Sales Manager in Pittsburgh, PA, hiring, firing and training all new Sales Reps in my territory of Western PA and West Virginia, adding millions of $ to the book of business, while there.
