Wendy Benner Burr began her real estate career in August of 2001, after leaving the corporate world trying her hand at owning/running a coffee house café until 9/11 did her in. People didn’t want to spend money on designer coffee after that, they spent more time and money with their families. Wendy didn’t want to return to the corporate world and her husband and her were looking into moving to the Finger Lakes region. This is what got her interested in Real Estate. They decided not to move and she started another career here in Western NY. The 1st year she bumped her head learning the business, although still managing her way through successfully to the point where she became the office Mentor the following year. Wendy has had a good track record with successes, and yet, she has seen some who didn’t make it or dabbled long enough to realize it takes perseverance to make money in this business. Wendy Benner Burr has since added Broker Associate, GREEN and HOMES designations to her war chest. She believes if she is to teach she should have the knowledge and credentials and not only for the agents she mentors, but for her clients as they are the true beneficiaries of working with a knowledgeable agent. Wendy says, "The clients for me are the reason you are in this business, as a speaker at Kellogg School of Management Northwestern University once said, the job has to mean more than money or you will never be paid what you think you are worth. The satisfaction I get from helping my clients find their 1st, 2nd or whatever house we are on as long as it is the right house for them, is the best! Helping a seller move on to their next chapter for whatever reason is very rewarding."
