Filed:
Nov 16, 2020
Appl. No.:
17/098943
Inventors:
- Mountain View CA, US
Yuning Chai - San Mateo CA, US
Yin Zhou - San Jose CA, US
Pei Sun - Palo Alto CA, US
Henrik Kretzschmar - Mountain View CA, US
Sean Rafferty - Sunnyvale CA, US
Dumitru Erhan - San Francisco CA, US

G06N 3/04
G06N 3/08
B60W 60/00
B60W 30/095
B60W 50/06
Abstract:
Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for generated simulated sensor data. One of the methods includes obtaining a surfel map generated from sensor observations of a real-world environment and generating, for each surfel in the surfel map, a respective grid having a plurality of grid cells, wherein each grid has an orientation matching an orientation of a corresponding surfel, and wherein each grid cell within each grid is assigned a respective color value. For a simulated location within a simulated representation of the real-world environment, a textured surfel rendering is generated, including combining color information from grid cells visible from the simulated location within the simulated representation of the real-world environment.

Object Detection In Point Clouds

Abstract:
Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for processing point cloud data representing a sensor measurement of a scene captured by one or more sensors to generate an object detection output that identifies locations of one or more objects in the scene. When deployed within an on-board system of a vehicle, the object detection output that is generated can be used to make autonomous driving decisions for the vehicle with enhanced accuracy.

Methods For Delineating Cellular Regions And Classifying Regions Of Histopathology And Microanatomy

US Patent:
2015011, Apr 23, 2015
Filed:
Sep 22, 2014
Appl. No.:
14/493208
Inventors:
- Oakland CA, US
Hang Chang - Moraga CA, US
Yin Zhou - Newark DE, US
International Classification:
G06K 9/00
G06K 9/62
US Classification:
382133
Abstract:
Embodiments disclosed herein provide methods and systems for delineating cell nuclei and classifying regions of histopathology or microanatomy while remaining invariant to batch effects. These systems and methods can include providing a plurality of reference images of histology sections. A first set of basis functions can then be determined from the reference images. Then, the histopathology or microanatomy of the histology sections can be classified by reference to the first set of basis functions, or reference to human engineered features. A second set of basis functions can then be calculated for delineating cell nuclei from the reference images and delineating the nuclear regions of the histology sections based on the second set of basis functions.
