Robust And Scalable De-Skew Method

US Patent:
7167995, Jan 23, 2007
Filed:
Sep 22, 2005
Appl. No.:
11/231773
Inventors:
John Ming Yung Chiang - San Jose CA, US
Assignee:
Broadcom Corporation - Irvine CA
International Classification:
G06F 11/00
H04J 3/06
H04L 7/00
US Classification:
713503, 370503, 375368
Abstract:
A method for selectively deskewing data traveling through a bus in a network device is disclosed. Bit-level data is received from each data line of a plurality of data lines of the bus. Vertical line information is detected for the plurality of data lines to determine if there is a match with a training pattern. A skew distance is calculated once there is a match with the training pattern. Then, the plurality of data lines are bit aligned based on the skew distance.

System And Method For Traffic Accounting And Route Customization Of Network Services

US Patent:
7577154, Aug 18, 2009
Filed:
Jun 3, 2002
Appl. No.:
10/162313
Inventors:
John Yung - Fremont CA, US
Jay Steven Adelson - San Francisco CA, US
Assignee:
Equinix, Inc. - Foster City CA
International Classification:
H04L 12/56
H04M 15/00
US Classification:
370400, 370401, 709203, 37911403
Abstract:
Traffic accounting and route customization of network services is described. According to one embodiment of the invention, a route customization server selects one or more network service providers to provide network services for one of a plurality of network users. The selection is based on a change request being provided by the one of the plurality of users. In another embodiment of the invention, a traffic accounting server provides billing information to the one of the plurality of users based on one or more media access control (MAC) addresses included in the network traffic of the one of the plurality of users.

Systems And Methods For Automatic Provisioning Of A User Designed Virtual Private Data Center In A Multi-Tenant System

US Patent:
2011015, Jun 23, 2011
Filed:
Dec 23, 2009
Appl. No.:
12/646591
Inventors:
JOHN CHI YUNG - FREMONT CA, US
International Classification:
G06F 17/30
US Classification:
707805, 707E17005, 707E17044
Abstract:
Systems and methods for a multi-tenant and fully automated Virtual Private Data Center (VPDC) provisioning. Examples include user interfaces for drag-and-drop configuration of a customer/user/tenant's network, validation checks on design choices, and automated provisioning of validated designs. The tenant may specify certain Quality of Service (QoS) choices along with the design structure, and various physical components and partitions of available and/or shared resources may be provisioned automatically for the tenant/customer.

Launching An Application Stack On A Cloud Platform Environment

US Patent:
2013023, Sep 5, 2013
Filed:
Mar 3, 2012
Appl. No.:
13/411555
Inventors:
John C. Yung - Fremont CA, US
International Classification:
G06F 9/44
US Classification:
717121, 717100
Abstract:
An application stack is launched on a cloud platform environment. An application manifest is created for each application in the application stack that is to run in a cloud platform environment. The application manifest includes, for each application, dependency information indicating application relationships and dependencies. The translated application manifests are used to construct the application stack within the cloud platform environment.

Multiple Port Shared Memory

US Patent:
2015017, Jun 18, 2015
Filed:
Dec 15, 2014
Appl. No.:
14/570886
Inventors:
- St. Michael, BB
John Ming Yung Chiang - San Jose CA, US
International Classification:
G11C 7/10
Abstract:
Some of the embodiments of the present disclosure provide a system comprising: a shared memory unit and an arbiter that is configured to generate a clock signal, receive information regarding bandwidths of each of a plurality of agents, and determine a clock frequency or a sequence for selecting single agents among the plurality of agents to allow the single agents to transfer data in parallel from/to the shared memory unit in a single clock cycle of the clock signal, wherein the sequence is based, at least in part, on the bandwidths for each of a plurality of agents. The arbiter is also configured to cycle through the determined sequence for selecting the single agents among the plurality of agents to allow the single agents to transfer data from/to the shared memory unit in the single clock cycles.
